I will try to keep my Z because it's my very first car that I own.

I think if you really love your car you will never sell it and just hold onto it till you die. That's the way it should be, I mean i wouldn't trade my car for anything else in this world.
what is even more stupid is that people back themselves into a corner financially to a point that they have to start selling things in order to get by. the biggest reasons i have seen recently are these two:

1 - having a kid. BUY ANOTHER CAR! seriously, if you cannot afford another car for 4 grand or less that has some extra room, you have no business having a kid........trust me, they aren't cheap either and birth control is CHEAP in comparison. also, your spouse should already have a ride and she should ditch it for a "mom-mobile" anyways since chicks, more often than not, do not have the same passion and love for their vehicles as guys do. sacrifice is one thing, but lunacy is another.

2 - buying a house. live within your means. i have no idea why people feel the need to live in "premier areas" and have a 2000+ sq/ft home when it's just two of them plus a kid, maybe two kids. i mean, hell, if you want a house that is big and fancy, fine..........i can't blame you, but don't cry that you "can't afford the car" when in fact it's the house you can't afford without cutting your ***** off. and for the love of God, stop being stupid when buying a house.......don't get an adjustable rate mortgage. fixed is the way to go, how people can think that getting an adjustable rate mortgage these days with the way the economy is going is beyond me.

9 times out of 10, if you have to start selling things off to make ends meet, you are not planning out your life very well. i will say it again, people should NOT live beyond their means and should not engage in acts that could result in financial hardship (sex can = kids) before deciding if said result can be paid for without issues.

lol... I agree 100%

People may call me a looser for living with my mom but it saves me $$ and it's cheaper than living on my own. My friends who tell me they can't afford to do anything cuz they put all there money into a nice place are jellous cuz I have a nice car and stuff and some have actually moved back home so they can actually buy themselves a new car. People need to think more resonably when it comes to $$... even if it means cutting corners I'd rather do that then sell my z

I love my Z so much that instead of trading her in when I got pregnant I just bought a second car! The Z stays no matter what, and I make sure I tell all my B/F that they better not make me choose between them and my Z because I can always find another man!

I completely agree with all of the issues mentioned above.

It just baffles me how people are today and how they manage their finances, I realize it's none of my business what you do with your money, but it's just freaking pathetic and very sad;

A buddy of mine still in college - frist of all he was in debt up to his ears in student loans. So during the middle of his sophomore year (he was my classmate majoring in the same subject) he notices that I got a brand new Z, long story short he wants a Z just like mine.
I told him it would be a very foolish decision to take a car loan out in his situation, he basically told me to lay off and he had everything under control .
(I don't know what you call control but if you are working 2 jobs overtime and barely passing your classes that's not control...)
Anyways long story short he goes ahead and gets a brand new Z - he drove it around for a few month even asked me to race him.. Then the bills start coming in gas/insurance/car payment with 16% rate.

Right now he is thinking of dropping out of college and keeping the Z.
I mean who the f*ck in their right mind will trade a college education for a car, no matter how cool the car is.

anyways that my little addition to how utterly retarded some people are at making financial decisions. Pardon my language.

whoa, i guess your one of those people that doesn't like change? ..well people change over time.. ambitions change.. likes/dislikes.. like how another member here said.. in 5 years you'd be in another car. common now.. its like when we were in high school and everyone was into civics/integs you grew out of that stage riiiiite? so you'll grow out of this 350z stage as well

i know for sure that i won't keep the Z forever(4 years max).. i've already got bored of it (i've had my car since dec 07) which i haven't had it for long. but since i'm upside down on my loan.. i guess i'll stick it out a bit longer..

I'm keeping my Z until it can't move anymore. Then I'll do an engine swap and continue to keep it.

I don't think living with your parents is being able to afford your car. Then moving back in with parents to afford a car !!!! If my kid moved back in just to buy a car , i would woop the sh$t out of him. A nice car is not a priority in life.
My Z is the first car ive spent over $10k on, i bought it when i was 31.

Alot of the people bought the Z33 when it was a new sports car, soon it will not be "new". People just want the latest and greatest. Plus the economy sorta sucks.

i have to agree with terrasmak.. i would rather have a nice house than a nice car. it sounds like you moved back home to afford your car and stuff. i moved back home as well.. not to buy a new car.. i moved back so i can catch up with my bills.. (i pay $1600 monthly in bills) so once i'm done with my bills.. i'll be moving out again

If I wasn't so upside down, this POS would have been gone a long time ago.
