Default is it possible

so im new on this site. my brother has a 350z and ive drove it a lot i love it i went to buy my own and since i had no credit they werent able to give me one instead using the benefits of the army they helped me and i was able to get an altima seR. im in iraq right now and plan on getting a 350 when i get back to the states. i want mine to be different though so i was thinking getting a fairlady jdm straight from japan. but with all the time we have here i was thinking is it possible to put a rb26 in it and make my z awd? i know pretty much anything is possible with the right amount of money i was just wondering how hard and how much work itd actually take.

It wouldn't just be the RB26 that would make the Z AWD, you would have to change the entire drivetrain... It would be a complete waste of money in my own opinion. Might as well just go straight to an R34 if you want something better than your brother's Z. It would definitely be better, much more reliable than a fully swapped JDM Fairlady, and would be much less of a hassle for probably the same price... Anyone else care to chime in?...

Really theres no difference between a fairlady z and a 350z, their the same car only the steering wheel is on a different side. And RB26's are just too old school, just build up the VQ that comes with the car

You can search around here at what some members/shops do with the VQ...also there is threads about the RB26 install...personally I would just buy an Older R34, than to make the Z an AWD...my 2 cents.

Unless your very well off , something the army doesnt pay enough , your stuck with a normal Z like us. If you want a JDM Z , try getting stationed at Torri Station in Okinawa.

I got the joke, it was okay! lol
Sell the Altima and get the Z. If you didn't have enough money to get the Z in the first place, prob won't have enough to AWD your ride.

I believe the JUN AWD 350z had the costs in the 100k range... Had plenty custom fabrication done, along with major engine work. The amounts you're gonna be looking at to do a RB swap, plus drive train conversion, just go for the GTR....

Here's an idea. Just go get the 350Z. Why spend the money to TRY to import that to America. It needs to be 25+ years old in order to get one here legally unless it's not going to be registered.

I suggest instead of using all that money in a Z to make it something it's not, either get something that COMES AWD or suck it up and build the Z.

You're in Iraq. You have enough to worry about. Just be safe and buy a Z when you get home. Stop worrying about how to make a Z AWD.

By the way, Thanks for Fighting for us Civilians over here. I know that this war is a bunch of BS, and the soldiers get the short end of the stick. Soldiers that put their lives at risk everyday should all be rewarded greatly. Hope all your Z plans turn out the way you want it. Think big, take one small step at a time!

+1.

GT-R is key.
