Default Man that is sad.

It is sad that you have to be approved to bid or even view the damn auction. Why would they do that? They send out an e-mail about this auction for charity to everyone who has already pre-ordered a z. What is the point? Only for the rich folk who can use it as a tax write off.

whatever just my 2 cents.

Default any accountants out there?

I may be wrong, but I think that tax write off is only good if you do not recieve goods or services in return for your donation. In this case you would be getting a car so it might not be a write off unless you can deduct the amount above the retail price.

Default Thanks for the Correction

Thanks for the correction I did not know about how tax write offs work. I was just venting because I just wanted to look at the auction not bid.
Thanks,
Adam

I think it's because when BMW did the same thing, they got jerked around by a few people (probably a bunch of spoiled 16-year-olds ) who put in bids they never intended to follow through with.

It's a little embarassing to have the car's bid up to $120,000, find out that the high bidder has no money, and then need to take a lesser bid (with a little egg on the face at the same time).

I think it's smart of Nissan to pre-approve any bidders. After all, they did the same thing with each of the pre-order candidates, right? (At least that's the word I heard -- all pre-order folks were credit screened prior to their orders going in.)
