my gf has this issue w/ my car... she seems to be just on the line of being heavy enough for the airbag sensor. so ... half the time the airbag's off. anyone else have this problem? anyway to just turn the sensor off?
This actually has me worried too, as my gf weighs in at about 120, and the light is always on saying the airbag is off. I had my car in to Nissan for it's annual state safety inspection, and I brought it up with the service rep. He said that it's not an adjustable feature, my gf's too light, sorry And I was like: "well, glad to know my gf will not be saved by the airbag, even though she outweighs the sensor."
I am going to call Nissan Corp today and raise the issue. If you think about it, how many Z's are sold in Japan? How much do people in Japan weigh, especially the women? Pretty sure they would be having more of an issue with the airbag sensor than us...
I 100% agree. So therefore, I am not dwelling on these crash test vids. No one else is either, and if you are, then stop. These test have to be done to help improve design and keep you alive. To me this is very interesting stuff, but I am also very knowledgeable about how the mind works, and agree with you. What you focus on expands, in all aspects of life. What you focus on will manifest itself. Worry is focused on the negative. A big key in life in general, is to keep your focus positive even if its deliberate. That is the key to optimism... Now, thats a big can of worms.
You're my hero. I have a sister and I would like some nephews.
wow its good to see the 350z does so well on the crash test, just sucks that mine doesnt have side airbags, does even more for side impacts in case it happens not that i want it to happen *knock on wood* lol

Make sure when she sits in the car she puts her butt right in the center of the seat before you start the car.My girlfriend weighs 110 and we had the same problem then it stoped happening when I started telling her to center her weight in the seat.
