I actually did do some research on that as well.

This will give you something to compare it too, this is basicly a flawed design that Hyundai has fixed throughout the years of the Sonata. The 2009s have a 5 star crash test rating, but check out the 06! very interesting, and shows how well the Z does, and also, what a bad crash test looks like.

Cool vid. The last clip, with the side impact test looked fatal to me. The dummy's head looked like it went through the side window and left an imprint on the colliding vehicle....

my gf has this issue w/ my car... she seems to be just on the line of being heavy enough for the airbag sensor. so ... half the time the airbag's off. anyone else have this problem? anyway to just turn the sensor off?

You cant compare the crash test from the Z to the hyundai. The Z is hitting a straight flat wall. The sides of the car take MUCH of the impact when you hit a flat wall. The Hyundai is hitting a block which hits only half of the car therefore much more damage would occur.

noted, but I believe the Z would handle the half car hit much better than the O6 Hyundai!

Yep. that last clip side impact looked fatal. What was that red stuff? It was on the driver and rear passenger's head?

It looks to me like paint on the test dummies head. Also, it looked non-fatal to me. The dummies hit a side curtain airbag.

Great find but I wonder after I saw those videos exactly what type of injuries one would substain in a wreck like that. Also having a aftermarket steering wheel does not seem like a good idea after what I saw.......hmmmmmmmmmm
