I see the confusion, genericized trademark, (calling a tissue a kleenex, or a Personal Watercraft a waverunner). I understand now you were refering to Yamaha as they manufacture the brand called waverunner. Anyways, I was refering to a Seadoo GTI (PWC)

BUT....am I missing something about the rest of this story? Why have you and everyone else in this thread assumed that you DON'T need the tension rods? Do you know that you don't??

I do feel you pain, I was just curious about that point. Trying to sting you for the $400 service, plus all the other 'services' they wanted you to do (drive belts / throttle body / fuel injector), plus the tension rods when all you wanted was an inspection is plain wrong. But aren't you thinking about getting a second opinion on whether you need the tension rods or not?

I hear ya, and I will have them checked. There may be wear on them but do they need to be replaced? Don't know yet... I'll have to wait until someone I trust tells me they need to be replaced before I drop $752.00+labor. Believe me I have NO issues with getting an excuse to buy more parts for the car
If a tech who cant even put all the bolts back on the undertray says you need tension rods, are you going to believe him or have someone else check?

I'm not saying the things they "Recommended" don't need to be done to the car, but I didn't ask them what they thought, I asked for an inspection sticker. I would never let a dealer do anything to my car, except put a sticker on it. That's what local shops like MRC (Julian Rules) are for. I drive over an hour and a half each way to take my car there for anything I cant handle myself.

The real kick in the teeth was the negligence, and the flood of denials only agitated an already bad situation. I would not have even mentioned this if the only issue was the "estimate" I remained nice and polite throughout the whole process, even when I took the car back and he said Not my fault, I kept my cool.

I've had some (limited) good experiences with this dealership and I've posted positive comments at that time but this is unacceptable, even more so being a weasel and not owning up to what happened. The service guy had every F'in excuse as to why he couldn't be responsible and it couldn't possibly be their fault
  • "We never took that off"
  • "Maybe your body shop did it"
And the best one of all
  • "I cant even put your car on the lift, I've got a lift in the back for a GTR and we cant get your car on it"
Now if the mechanic DIDN'T take the undertray (they call that plastic piece a splash guard) off and you CANT put my car on the lift, then how the fukc can you tell me I need tension rods?

I knew sure as **** they wouldnt pony up a new undertray and I wasnt expecting any freebies, I just wanted it fixed. The whole point of this thread is I want people to know how these guys treated me. If even 1 person sees this and just takes an extra look at their car or the work done by these guys, mission accomplished. After 900 views SO FAR, I think this thread worked.

Here's the pictures of my fixed car:

That gap is still BS

WAHOO nice giant *** washers, (I'm surprised they didn't use Zip ties) Thanks Fred Beans Nissan of Limerick, Thanks for the memories

For ***** and giggles I looked up those parts from courtesy,

54468 and 54469 are both $144.00 a piece + $14 for shipping

Nice dealership, $50 wipers and almost a 150% markup on the tension rods

Sorry you guys have not bad experiences at dealships. My experience at my local dealer has been great. I taken it to Torre Nissan in La Quinta near work and Allan my service writer has taken care of me since I got my '03 in August '02. He's ALWAYS gone of out his way to do everything right and to my advantage when there was a question. I can't even count the times he's come through. I still take my '07 Z and Murano there and probably always will.

Small irrelevant update:

I got the car back from the smaller shop last night. Since I already had the emissions done at the stealership listed above, it cost me a grand total of $37.00 for my inspection.... and that includes the bulbs I needed (I bought my own wipers for 5 bucks a piece).
