damn...about 3 days ago i thought september 6th wasn't to far away. But after reading all these posts......it feels like an eternity!!

My salesman called today, said the date has moved up from 9-03-02 to 8-27-02, which means it will be next week!! Yeah boy!

THIS CAR F**CKING ROCKS!!!! Car feels solid. Black looks the best. There were 3 other Z's their for pickup, but I got mine first and I am doing a story for the local paper. Pushing down in the shifter for reverse is kind of weird. Car feels well damped with little body roll, but not harsh. Interior: I think it's awesome. Very supportive driver's seat. Nav door; just remember to pull it forward, but it's cool the way it retracts on it's own. Dealer said the car has a 4000 rpm rev limiter for 500 miles, but I haven't taken it that high yet. Plenty of headroom for my 6'2" frame. Pictures simply don't do it justice.

The entire dealership was outside watching me take delivery and drive away. It was pretty cool.

Havent heard of that yet, so i doubt it. Perhaps he was just recommending limiting your revs to 4k or below.

Congrats on your car. I wish i could go to sleep and just wake up in November...

Congrats, Steve! Personally, I don't give a f**k about pics, video or whether the navi door still sucks. Please, PLEASE give all the details you can about actually driving the car. How do the clutch and shifter feel? What does the torque curve feel like under 4K rpm? What is the steering response like? What about coming out of a sweeper at 25+ over the posted limit?

 

Was this the first time you've seen it in person?? I think if I waited to see it until I took delivery I'd be too excited to do anything but stare at it with my jaw on the floor. Now I know what to expect, seeing it twice. Except I haven't seen black yet, which I'm sure will be even more beautiful to me. I know this has been asked before, but we all want to know: what do you think of the way the car drives? How does it feel? The best driving car I've ever driven is my mom's 525i, it doesn't seem to have as much giddyup as my maxima, but the handling of the car is superb as far as I know. I'm sure the Z will be even better,... right?
