EBAY Z >$50K and NOT tax deductible
So Nissan has changed its ebay listing to say the amount over MSRP is NOT tax deductible. I was wondering how they were getting away with that, because while everything over fair market value would be tax deductible, the fair market value of VIN 000001 is higher than MSRP. I imagine most everyone here would pay at least a little more for this car than MSRP.

The entire auction has been handled very poorly thus far. I have sent a note to Nissan expressing my opinion.
First, they started late.
Second, they tossed out the first hour and started over.
Third, this verification process is a joke. When I contacted them the first afternoon, they said they needed to contact specific account numbers to verify the bidder has the funds available. After four hours, they could not get my two account numbers verified. This morning, I offered to fax my account statement to them. They accepted. When I called back to see if I could begin bidding, they wanted a letter of credit from a bank in spite of the fact they had legitimate statements of available funds. They changed this policy based on the number of requests from people who wanted to finance the purchase. At this point, I expressed my opinion of their 'service' and bowed out.
All these details should have been taken care of prior to the start of the auction. It's hard to hit a moving target.

Not to mention that this will seriously impact the number of possible bidders. Many will not want to go through the hassle.
Another mistake they made is the title of the auction, calling the car a "350 Z" - note the space in between. This means if you go searching for 350Z you wont find it.
