Engine replacement
hey! So of you might remember when I was having oil consumption issues? If not that is ok- The reason I am blogging tonight is to tell you that 2 weeks ago Nissan Corp replaced my engine in my 2006 Z with only 13k miles. I know right that is what I thought...the car is doing great it no longer burns oil where before it was going through close to of a quart of oil every 800 miles or less. The VCT Sprockets are no longer chattering and the clutch actually works better now that they took things apart and replaced most things. So why am I posting this you ask? Well, I feel people need to know that things are going fantastic. I am very happy that my Z is better I could not think of another car I would want. Plus I love being a Nissan owner/driver. Cheeers-- Gary

I wasn't talking crate.. My mistake.

A nice LS2/T56 combo will run you 6-7K and will turn a 350Z into a low-mid 12 second monster. Torque is a beautiful thing.

if you REALLY REALLY want a new motor, just siphon the oil out from the dip stick hole. Just go to your dealership and say "hey i might have oil consumption." they give you 5 quarts of oil and measure it before you start you 1000 mile test. They mark the drain plug somehow i believe so you cant tamper with that. After the 1000 miles schedule your appointment to come back in and have it tested. Before going in just take a siphon with a small hose and just still it in the dipstick hole and start siphoning. Take atleast a quart out so you fall in the catogory of "no good" on the chart. And its pretty much that simple.
