How rare the 350Z ?
Just got back this evening from Indianapolis after going to the Brickyard 400 yesterday. I drove about 1,100 total miles from KC to Indy and back. I ONLY SAW ONE 350Z ON THE WHOLE TRIP! I’m thinking how rare is this car?? I really was expecting to see a few Zs out on the road.
PS This was the first road trip in my Z. It was a great gran turismo. I was pleasantly surprise how great the ride was in the interstate. Also, I got 28.5 MPG on the road, averaging about 75 MPH with the A/C on. Better than I expected.

Well I know I've been seeing more and more lately. But, it probably does depend on the area you live in too. Some smaller towns may have only one or two Z's...Or, you could live in Northern VA, and see a redline, pines peak white, lemans sunset, chrome silver, silver stone, AND a superblack all in a 2-hour period of just driving around. and NO i did not drive past a dealership, all of those above were either on the road driving, or parked in front of someone's house. It was crazy, it was the most Z's ive ever seen in one day.

Well, each year, 17 million cars are sold in the US. 30000 are Zs. which is a bit over the number of Corvettes sold. Also if you toss the number of Zs into the number of cars in the US (which is around 150 million or so, I think, one car per two person, could be wrong), that gives you an idea.
I believe they only made 23,000. Remember, this is the first model year, so that's the total number. Next year the number on the road will double, etc. etc.
When you see most other cars, you're probably seeing different model years which contributes to them being more visible.

I work for a huge corporation in Dallas area and there are 7 in our parking lot I think. A VP was the first one to have it though...a Black Enthusiast 6spd :-O

Nissan is not marketing this car as a lmited edition model. They'll make as many as they can sell. Besides, competition is hot right now for performance cars.
I see quite a bit in Toronto. About 1-2 a day. That's 7-14 per week! Some are prolly the same cars as I commute on the same road as them.

I see quite a bit around here in NJ. However, almost all of them don't have any exterior noticeable mods. The best mods I've seen so far are rims and they've almost always been chrome. Not really worried about my car feeling 'diluted' by other Z's.
i see them all the time. nissan wants to sell as many of these as possible, thats why they made them so cheap. well, reletively. with no other real standout sports coup in that price range, many many people are buying the Z/G35c
I never see Z's. It's almost impossible to believe. Once they began selling the Z I figured that I'd be seeing them everwhere I looked after about a year. I'm LUCKY if I see one. I live about 15 minutes south of Boston and I work in the city and have seen probably 10 Z's total in the past year or more. Although there was a brickyard that almost slipped by me unnoticed yesterday morning on the expressway. (Probably becasue he was "commuting" at about 75 or 80. Made me smile) I'm actually happy about this as my purchase date nears (waiting for the '04) because I still feel like I'm buying an "exclusive" car. There are plenty of people I mention it to who have never even heard of the name of the car or know what it looks like! I'm still trying to figure this phenomenon out. In the meantime I just have to drop by a local nissan dealership to check one out. I also happen to go to the gym next to an upscale go cart racing complex called F1 Boston. There are always plenty of amazing cars there (this is where I saw my first Z last year...DB, california tags on it) and if there is a Z it's usually modded. Anyways, not many Z's in the Boston area. Good for me, bad for Nissan.
