Default How long will you KEEP your 350Z?

Everyone has talked lease vs. loan for months now...

But I'm wondering: How long do you plan on keeping your new 350Z?

2, 3, 5, 7, 10 years?

My current Z is 12 years young and I keep them until they get 200 -300k miles on them

Depends on the roadster -- good chance that I'll just have this Z until the roadster is released in the spring, if it's sweet.

Though it's tough to give up a collector's piece...#690, first year model...

It all depends on how it holds up over time. If after 3 years and I have paid it off the car has held up well and there aren't any hatch noises, etc. I will keep it indefinitely.

It all depends really. As most car buffs, you always have that desire to keep your first new car indefinately, show it off to your kids, take it for a spin when you are fifty. But then something better comes along. My first new car is a 98 Integra GSR, but now I am selling it to buy the Z. Now my desire is to keep my first new car that I am actually paying for (parents bought me the Integra), but again, only time will tell.

Cheers,
Tubbs

I'd like to keep it a long time. So far I have not had a long relationship with a car, but the Z may be the one. If so I may keep it forever as I only plan on 7-8K miles a year.

I'm sure my niece will want it (she is 4). So I guess I'll get 12 years out of it.

not so fast, I thought we said no 16 year olds are allowed to drive the Z.

I have a simple formula, my wife and I have two cars, I keep each car 10 years and try to buy a new car every 5, so I always have one car betwen 0 and 5 years, and one between 5 an 10. My algorithim is thrown off a little bit by the release date of the Z, because I bought my Maxima in 2000. All well, maybe I'll only keep the Maxima 8 years so I will be back in sync.

Never selling it. Period. I don't care how many turbos or how big a V10 they stuff under the hood for 2004.

This Z is mine for the rest of time.

I'm looking at a lease originally but this is my dream car and I've been waiting to buy a Z since I was something like 13. I would like to keep the car for as long as I can (ie. a second "special" car in several years). That's the plan anyways not to sell it.

I'm looking at keeping it for 3-4 years. My ultimate plan is to wait for the Skyline GT-R or new Audi S4. Then, i'll buy which ever one like better(Yes, i know the Skyline will be better, but i love the S4).But, a lot of this can change in 4 years. But thats my plan.

I kept my '91 300 twin turbo for 120,000 miles and my second for 70,000. The thing that will determine how long I hang on to the 350 is whether or not they introduce a super or turbo charged verision in the next few years. If yes - I'll trade for that. If not - who knows? I drove nothing but twin turbos for 11 years...

While my father has managed to keep his 240z for 32 years, in all honesty, I will probably pursue an FI 350z and trade mine in. Depending on how much hp gain there is, I might wait for the 2nd production year of the FI.
