I am writing this response to a thread posted by gmic350Z. The reason I am writing this post is because I am in disbelief of all the Z owners who bashed him for his post. I own a Z that is slightly modded and drive 100 miles a day to and from work and I have idiots all the time trying too race me through rush hour traffic! If you own a 350Z you know what I am talking about. I encounter two types of drivers on the road, Those who admire the Z and those who are just plain jealous of the Z! As an example today I had a V6 Dodge magnum with 20 inch rims try to **** me off but sometimes you gotta just laugh and remember that we drive a beautiful sports car and not a ghetto family wagon! vo7848 I agree with what you did by closing that post I really don't like it when Z owners are hating on each other for posting things that irritate them the most. This should be the only place we as 350z drivers can share our anxiety's without Hatred because of age!

If it really matters I am 24 years old and this is exactly why I wrote this, Who cares how old I am! Why is there so much criticism in this forum. I Commute to San Jose California and deal with A$$hole drivers all the time. Im not bashing those of you who drive in smaller populated areas, all im saying is don't critique posters so much that we draw them away from the forums. I love this site because there is so much helpful info but at the same time I like to see the posts that involve our experiences as 350Z drivers.

 

I live in Orange County, where it's FULL of ricers and I still hardly get revved on. So I don't know what's up with these people saying people always rev on them and are looking to race

If what you meant by that comment was that we should not be discriminated on here because of age, then go see how many stupid lame-@$$ threads are made by younger people daily. I'm not saying all of them do it, but a pretty high percentage do . I'm 23 myself, but at least I don't act like a retard

 

calin I am not bashing you in any way. What I am saying is that the post by gmic350Z was in no way shape or form subject to discrimination by age. I enjoyed what he had to say and I know many Z owners can relate to his story. There is no reason to automatically accuse him of being a young Z owner. I agree that there are many posts by younger Z owners that are just flat out lame but this was not one of them regardless of age.

Yup Calin said it perfectly. No.. of course the majority of the members here don't hate (discriminate) every young driver. Just the ones with attitudes or who make immature (stupid) threads like these. And there are a tons of em. Thankfully the mods sort em out pretty quick.

03SILVER350Z, I understand your passion my friend. I also understand your fustrations with other drivers on the road. I get them from time to time also, just not as often as others. We as Z drivers must be bigger than others and exercise restraint and good judgement while on the roadways. Perhaps the reason others on the road act as they do towards Z drivers is because of a past experience with a less responsible Z driver. Who's to say, but I'm guessing this is the reason. You keep on trucking and do what is right on the road. Stay calm, responsible, and out of trouble.

As to why this Gmic gentleman was flamed so intensively, was not so much for the idea of his post, but his content, poor choice of words, and overall demeanor. Around here, it's an initiation process. All must assimulate to the overall demeanor of the forums. There are certain things that are not tolerated. A prime example of posting habits that are not tolerated, were exhibited in the previous thread I closed.

Please take this as a valuable learning experience. It will ensure a pleasant stay on the forums, as we are glad to have passionate Z enthusiast such as yourself on the forums.

Now I must lock this thread also. As a Moderator I am tasked with enforcing the rules across the board. It is a violation of TOU #15, rehashing. I will not issue a warning for this since you are new and do not seem to have any malicious intent....
