Noob question: Does this engine bay look odd?
Well I looked it up and apparently it was a rare option but some track models did have leather in 03 i believe. I can't get a close enough shot to see the brembo's that the track comes with
i would stay away from this Z, i would rather buy a stock Z than a modded Z since a modded Z could have problems to it why else they would sell it
but i honestly agree with marques1, if the owner doesnt want to comply by taking it to a mechanic then he is obviously hiding something he doesn't want revealed

Marquee is obviously very intelligent and realistic...It might be wise to listen to him and sit this one out if you can't take it to a reputable z tuner. Plus, you will probably find Z's selling for less and less as it gets closer to winter, and the release of the new Z.
If it were me, I would buy it and try and tune it myself, but only after hours of research and picking the brain of someone who knows their *****. If you aren't prepared to rebuild the car with your own hands, you probably should just wait it out sir.
it is a potentially good situation too though; the cost of adding turbo to the Z is insane - if it is something you are even remotely considering, this car might be a good deal for you.
.. but then again, a modded Z being traded in - there are a number of reasons, but I can tell you, a lot of people will trade in a car when they are having expensive issues and are tired of dealing with it.
like many others have said.. if you like this ride, get it inspected by a Z specialist, pay the 100$, it will be a very minor cost to absorb if this is indeed the right Z for you..

I appreciate everyone's responses. The owner of the used car dealership hasn't been available for the past few days because his father had a heart attack. When i can actually get a hold of him to see what he knows i will see if he got any information on how long the turbo was on etc when he took it in.

what is this good deal you speak of?
How much are they charging you?
if it is only 10k do it, a good used motor is only $1500-2500, and then you can sell your used Tn kit for $2000-3k to fix it again with lower miles. You will lose nothing but a weekend of doing a swap. its a win win situation. ANd if it has no problems you will have a bad *** Turbo'd Z
End of story. NO risk no reward.
