seriously whats with all these threads about taking a damcar for a long trip? long or short, its the same thing isnt it? i couldnt resist myself from asking after seeing so many threads about it. i mean ur gonna end up driving the z from asu to socal, so y even bother to ask? unless u wanna hitch hike a ride or ride the airplane.
edit:advice? when u feel cramped, get out of the freeway n stretch

I've driven from Phoenix to LA a couple times, never once did I feel the need to use cruise control. It's a fun drive until you actually get to LA... I HATE driving in that crazy city, especially without GPS

Get some recaro seats...... much better for long drives! No leg or back pain what so ever!
Best advice is take a break when your gas foot gets tired, it gets worse quicker if you dont take that stop, and dont drive tired, you will regret it!

You can do it!
I recently did a roadtrip over the Labor Day weekend. 2800 miles from Fri 2:30 pm to Mon 10 PM. I have a base so no cruise control. I don't believe in cruise controls even when I had cars that had 'em. It takes away from the driving experience thus taking away the fun.
I only stopped for gas. At each stop, that's when I'd eat, take a leak (or 2), and stretch.
Called it a night every 700 miles (approx 9 hrs driving).
I'd change hand positions every so often so they don't cramp up. Normally, I'd drive with a hand position of 9 and 3 o'clock. But, on long trips where there ain't as much curves, I found 7 and 5 to be more comfortable.
375 miles is a piece-a-cake.

What is with kids today...
Back in '82, I drove a Datsun longbed pickup from Oregon-> New York in 2 1/2 days. No cruise, not good seats, and only an AM radio. I think you should be able to handle 375 miles in a Z, even if it is a base.
OK, some will say that is too old an example. Last December I drove a 3rd gen RX-7 from MO to WA, going the long way around south because of weather. Did it in a leisurely three days (with a side trip to the Grand Canyon from Flagstaff) averaging about 1000 miles/day. The '94 Rx-7 is a tiny car compared to the Z (even if the RX is faster), and the trip was a blast.
Make the road trip, take some tunes and some water, and you will have a great time.
