Default 375 mile drive with Z??..

So i'm driving up from So Cal to ASU next weekend and am debating on whether or not to take the Z... It's a base model (so no cruise control) and that seems to be my main issue.

So I was wondering how many of you Base Z Model owners have driven your Z long distance and any recommendations or advice for a somewhat long trip. It's a 4-5 hour drive depending on traffic.

I've just always wanted to take the Z on a nice drive, but i'm not sure if the hassles are going to be worth it... All advice, comments, and feedback are appreciated Thanks

well i have driven a 550mile trip several times and didnt use cruise. mainly because it wont set after like 93 or some **** and i was well above that. but other than the leather seats cutting circulation in my legs i was fine. and had fun.. i think it will be fine

I'll be taking the I 10. The 8 is too far south from where I am. I'm in South OC

Another thing is that i've noticed after a somewhat distant drive, like 30 minutes or so, with minimal lumbar support in the stock seats my lower back starts to get a little sore... Any suggestions for a temporary lumbar support? haha

bring a towel and roll it, place behind your back and adjust to your liking.

not so fast my friend, it is a Z afterall and we all know that it is a double edged-sword to own, it looks great and at the same time thats what causes it to be randomly vandalized. so yeah, it may score you a few points, but on a college campus, its better to be safe than sorry.

I'd recommend making periodic stops to help wear off the strain of keeping your foot on the gas. I drove from VA Beach, VA to Denver, CO and fully enjoyed the drive. I did however make stops every 2-3 hours and of course rested every 8 hours to prepare for the next stretch in the morning.

I drive from MA to South Jersey all the time and I never use cruise. I can think of very few other cars I would rather spend 5 hours in.

Haha i drove my Z from Kalispell, MT (1 hour south of canadian border) to San Diego. I think it was like 2200 miles. Then back within 1 month. So yea ive had my car for 14 months and have 25,000 miles on it. 4 of those months it was garaged. Damn montana winters!!! Not having cruise control sucked but it wasnt too bad, straight aways i would push the gas with my left foot.
