You could die next Tuesday of a freak accident (God forbid), just get the freakin car and enjoy your life while you're still alive. maybe 10 years from now you won't even care about the money, or whatever, do what you want, but like they said in some flick I saw, "Be mindful of the future, but not at the expense of the present" Good luck.

I would (and did) wait for the 04. The only real option you're missing out on is the splash guards. You could always tell the dealer, I want the trunk mat, floor mat, and cargo pack for free. I did, and they gave it to me. They have them at the dealership, which can easily be included with the car. If you buy the 03, you're buying a car that will be 1 year old before you even drive it off the lot. For what, a measly 300 bucks? To convince me to buy a 1 year old car, they'd have to work on that price . . .

You have been waiting since April, buy the '03 now.

The car is not 1 year old, just the model year.

Did you ever think that you could buy the '03 now, put 30,000 miles on it in 12 months and NOT take a hit for high mileage if you sold it.

You get 12,000-15,000 mile for FREE!!!

You must love torturing yourself. 4 months is way too long to be waiting.

BUY THE '03 this weekend!!!

You made the right decision to buy now. Sleeperbold is right, “10 years from now you won't even care about the money, or whatever…” Life is too short, we are not guaranteed tomorrow. Enjoy life (and your Z) today.

Peace

my immediate thoughts would be that Nissan mgiht've ironed out the initial '03 bugs with later year models no? That in itself would be my deciding point. But then again, we don't know if Nissan did or not. However the depreciation of 03s has already occured compared to 04. It's your choice. I'd take an 04 (am I odd?) so that when come time to sell at least I get a one year 'newer' advantage over the 03s. Another way to put it is 03 has been out since 2002. So do you mind driving MY car that's out for a year? But if you can't wait.... you can't wait.

Default 03 vs 04

depreciation value is an overrated value if you are buying for long term. if you do change cars often then I would advise buying another car. on the basis of depreciation value buy a lexus, bmw or one of the other highest rated cars for immediate resale. if you are buying a car to save money buy a hyundai or sticking with Nissan sentra. if the 04 z has some great changes 03 does not have buy 04z . if you are buying a new car to only keep for less than year, buy the 04z. if you are buying car just to drive and enjoy for a reasonable period of time buy the 03z. I bought origianl 90 z in 90 and had it 12 years. the real value was in the good car I had to drive for 12 years, not the resale value. good luck in your choice.

get the o3......i you get an 04 right when they came out then you have to worry about miles. If you get an 03 in 04 you already can put 12/15k miles on your car wihtout really going over the nation's average

Some items are fixed by model year, others are fixed as they come up with a solution. I noticed many people posted excessive ft tire wear before I got my Z but when I got it in Jan 2003, it seems the Z's built then and after that date have not had that problem or at least not as high a percentage of people having the problem. This leads me to think they must have done something to change/fix ft tire wear in mid production year.
