Just saw the car
About 4pm I got a E-Mail from H4lights with a photo. Before you could count to ten, I was on my way down 190th/Victoria.
Got there just in time, I felt dizzy walking up to it. OMG, to see it in the flesh, Wow.
OK, the track wheels are shaped the way they are because of clearance issues to the calipers.
I really don't think the stock 18" will work with those brakes, for those of you who are contemplating. I just don't see it, the calipers are really "fat" in the front.
Quarter panel lip is about 3/4", relationship/gap to tire is almost 2", so plenty of room for larger tires, if you wish.
I will.
This was a Stage 2 pre production car, Chassis #000033 with a production date of 04/02. Fit and finish really good from 3 feet and it will get better. Give them time.
Door panels are SOFT!!!, thank God, 2/3rds of the surface. Dash is hard, except for the right side-airbag side-which is usually soft for almost all OEM's. Center console hard as well, but all surfaces had a nice grain and were not shiny. Headliner very nice! Steering wheel felt good, nice and thick.
Motor sounded real good, real raspy off idle. Also rpms would drop real quick after revving. Exhaust note is impressive for a stock muffler. Was told pre production engine pull is very impressive with a very wide power band with no peaks.
Asked about numbers, they are still being worked on, have not stopped. "They would like to get more and have time"
Driving away the car had real presence. I can't wait....
That's all for now

Lucky bastard... :)
Thanks dc for the "images". Excellent feedback on the interior...it all sounds good so far. this whole thing is just sounding too good to be true...
I'm so jealous of you guys out near LA. If NNA was in Philly I'd probably have a tent set up on the sidewalk out front. But, it's also going to be great to see the car for the first time, and to be able to walk up to it, sit in it, turn the key and drive away.

Yahoo!!!!!
DC...I am so glad you were able to see it too!
And it's awesome that you were able to fill in so many of the details I miss. I think it's partly because I have the camera distracting me, but also like you said, it's the dizziness we get just getting close.
Maybe those of us in the area should exchange phone numbers, so we can call each other when we have sightings.

How did you find out the chassis number and production date? Someone there tell you?
You must have the biggest grin on your face right now!

Just got back from clubbing in LA. Thought I'd check my email.
I did not rev the engine, the guy taking it away did, asked him to.
Also, the chassis plate was staring at me when he had the door open, it's on the rocker behind the kick plate(they were the standard ones, darn).
That's how I got the VIN number and production date.
One thing I forgot to check is back-spacing to the sturts, oh well next time.
I asked him to turn on the xenon's, they looked good.
Clear parking bulbs, thank God. None of that amber US crap.
Anyways, it's too late, I'm going to bed, have to get up in one hour to catch qualifiying from Monaco. See ya.....
Go Schumi.....

No it did not have Daytime Running Lights.
Personally, I can't stand them!
Monaco:
Yes, it will be an awesome race, hope for the best at turn one......it usually ends up in tears.
So, are you watching Jim Neighbors tomorrow? A little "Back Home to Indiana?"
It's Nissan vs Chevy, I've been waiting for this for so long.
Go Robbie!!!!!!!

My Wife just saw the car
Depending on you're prespective, I may be in deep s*#t. My wife just saw the Daytona Blue and man is she ever drooling. Until today she has been tolerating my infatuation gracefully. But now she has been bitten. Actually, I find it very amusing to say the least. Aside from the cost, who could complain about having two 350Zs in the garage. Anyway, time will tell. I like having a working woman. Makes her own money and spends it too.
Hahahahahah.....

Door panels are SOFT!!!, thank God, 2/3rds of the surface. Dash is hard, except for the right side-airbag side-which is usually soft for almost all OEM's. Center console hard as well, but all surfaces had a nice grain and were not shiny. Headliner very nice! Steering wheel felt good, nice and thick.

when you sit in a GM made car, place your hand on the dash and it feels like hard plastic. Yet, go do that same thing in a Honda Accord, and the material has some play. Or, is has a "soft" feel.
