IF it helps, stats show that ATs in our beaZts are f-l-a-w-l-e-s-s, versus the MTs, which
are clunky, to say the least (they're downright riddled with all kindsa malfunctions!) So,
think about it, dude. Next time you're in city traffic, a highway super jam, etc., consider
a p-e-r-f-e-c-t AT in your next Zeddo!!! Just 1-2 less MPG, too (vs. the MT)!

No, i was leaving a left turn signal and just gunned it a little (not much at all either) and it broke loose. I used to race dirt bikes in high school and street bikes back in the 90's. I came up learning how to slide my tail end around through a turn to shorten the apex. I don't mind the sliding...I just stated that there IS a difference between having and not having VLSD and TCS. To me, the feel is enough for me to state that it's a big enough difference to be very noticeable. For someone coming from a fwd, lower hp vehicle this could be a pretty good learning curve...especially in the rain or snow.

Wow, sorry for the loss. I have a 2007 Enth 6-speed. I'm in Southern Cali and it was really hard for me to find one. The only had one left at the dealership I went to and that's then only one left within several hundred miles from the L.A. area. I bought it in Aug of 07 and I guess the stock was running low. Luckily it was a Mag Black which is what I wanted. Love the 6-spd, but it is a bit tricky to drive smoothly coming from a much lower powered car, being in LA, it definitly sucks sitting in traffic with a stick shift. Good luck on your search, auto or 6-spd both have their goods and bads.

Ofcourse there is a difference. Will it save you from being a wreckless driver? NO.

We could've cut that time to at the very most 12 hours if all of us were in our 4 wheel drive vehicles or at the very least trucks with higher ground clearance where we could have just driven where the heck we wanted. During this mandatory evac for Ike I was at work on the thursday before the storm and at 8:30 that morning they announced the mandatory evac of our area in Seabrook. We were all supposed to be out of our homes by 12 noon that same day. My first priority was my wife and kids. Once I got home from the office we loaded up all the important papers and all of our pictures, most of my firearms, our dog and 6 - 5 gallon fuel cans into my Tundra. Remembering the limitations that a low ground clearance vehicle had I left my Z in the garage knowing full well that it was a great possibility that it would be lost. We were lucky that all we had was wind damage and my Z was OK. the bottom line is the Z can be replaced...my family can't. I hope that I explained it where I didn't come across as a dick...I just wanted you to understand what many of us were up against.
I live in Clearlake and had to mandatory evac too. I realized I didn't have enough space in the Z to fit everything I wanted to take with me + my gf. So I drove the Z to a parking garage inside 610 and parked it a few floors up.

Maybe you can try something like that before the next big hurricane hits if you have more time to spare.

Good luck finding your new car!

I actually did that during Rita with my other car (5800 clay). But like you said...at that time I had more time to do what I needed to do.

That's a really ignorant statement.

Manuals give you more control over the car and are 100,000 times more fun to drive. I guess it's just a matter of preference though.

Personally, I don't think the Z or any sports car should have come in an automatic in the first place. Like the Honda S2000.

Most of the riced-out Z's I see on the road are auto's anyways.

Well, there out there, but as you said, hard to find. I did find one near Dallas this morning while searching the dealerships. My local dealer gave me a call this morning to see when I was ready and if I was still looking. I sent him an email with the vin number, told him I would be ready to take delivery next week. So he's seeing about getting it moved down here for me.

08 Carbon silver, enthusiast with a six speed.

My brother used to live in Beverly Hills, they recently moved out to Riverside, I've spent a good deal of time out there (ex Navy brat) I know the traffic all too well. Here in my neck of the woods traffic jams are rare and few. Even so if I was in your neck of the woods, I'd still have the standard, you folks have some of the best roads for really becoming one with the car, and you can't do that in an auto.
