Post What Ward really said about Nissan's 3.5 VQ

"Nissan engineers got it right – incredibly, resolutely right – from the very beginning, the day they signed off on the final design for what was to become the best V-6 engine the auto industry’s ever seen."

That made my day

I agree the V6 in 350Z is very good...but Nissan should set the rev limiter higher...at least 7K rpm.

It's all about useable range... it wasn't necessary with the way they set up the engine. You have a steep decline in power come that high... you'd need to tweak the ecu, among other things, to really see power there.

What I love is that the VQ in Z form is allready a midrange rich torquer out of the box, and with a simple 1-2 punchof an ECU/bored plenum, it can become that and a high RMP screamer.

Oh, BTW, my engine is at 10,000 miles, and it is SOOOOO much smoother than it was a many months ago. Now I can see why the engineers at Nissan recomend regular oil to help polish out the engine internals.
