Well guys I want to get a wrecked, salvage 350z , and I was wondering how much would it cost me to get one? I dont want to get a really screwed up one, something that will cost me about in 3k repairs, and it dont really matter what year it is. So could you guys help me out and tell me how much they go for . And sorry if I reposted this thread or something. Thanks

 

i dont think you can find anything with 3k repairs then OK Z...impossible..

i think his looking to fix the car to use it. hmmm why would u want to be driving a salvaged Z, usually salvaged means pretty bad frame damage to be called a total loss and when a Z gets wrecked THEY GET WRECKED!!!...its a sports car for gods sake lol. anywho it def. will not be 3k to fix a salvaged Z so might as well get that out of ur mind.

 

$3K in damage is not much for a modern car, particularly the Z. Insurance companies will not write off vehicles unless there's a sound business case for doing so. Think of damage being in the $8-12K range or being particularly tough to repair, time and money-wise. Also, remember that if you commit to rebuilding a salvaged Z, you'll also be getting a salvage title, which brings down resale prices a TON.

For those who are looking to pickup a 'cheap' 350Z, this is a BAD idea. Unless you ALREADY HAVE the skills, tools and time to rebuild the car (usually entails a full shop), you're delusional in thinking this is the way to go...

 

dont get a salvage Z, honestly its not as good as one that isnt salvage...

 

if a Z is worth lets say 20,000 why would a insurence company throw away 17000? when they could have just spent 3000 to fix.

salvage is for people who can't afford a new or used one, but still want the "look". Kinda like folks getting those Volk ripoffs made by Rota.

 

Not everyone has a money tree in their backyard. And a salvaged 350z is STILL a 350z. Take a look at all the salvage titles that came out in 2005 from hurricane Katrina. $3k for reparing a salvage car is realistic. He might even want it for track use..??..

if thats realistic why is it salvaged? my insurence company spent 5000 fixing my old tiburon that was only worth like 11000... the insurence company is going to figure out which solution is cheapest and do it. most the time fixing a salvage car you end up saving 2-3000 at most, from what you would of paid had you bought a new or used car not wrecked...

 

There is a salvage dealer that I found in NH that currently has 3 350z's one being a 2006 w/ 19k on it and is going for 10k. The dealer has all cars from yr 2000-2008 from all makes Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Porsche, Jaguar, ect. not bad prices. I was thinking about picking up another DD. It could always be fixed and sold for profit.

 

Hurricane Ike just took mine, 7300 miles on it, water got over the lower door sill by about 6 inches. They wanted 5400 for a buy back, I let them have the car. I asked what they would do with it and they said crush it, unless they could finds a buyer.

Liabilty is their fear, any wiring that maybe damaged could cause an air bag to not deploy. It was mint condition, but only some one that would part out the hard goods could have it. Electronics will be destroyed.

Sure miss that car, but should have another by this week. 08, Carbon Silver, enthusiast, 6 speed on order from supplimental stock.

 

That will be on auction next week to a car dealership. Any way they can make money rather then crushing a car. Once sold at auction its no longer their problem. Hell, as long as it runs and looks good most dealerships do not care. That is why you only get that 3 month 3k mile warranty. Have to make money some how it today's economy.

Not true about can't afford but wants the look.I've bought 2 350z's to turn a profit.The last one I bought was a 2007 for $2000 dollers.Thats how I ended up selling the drive train for 2000 and getting this guys COMPLETE Greddy kit.PLus I turned another 3500 selling parts off it.If you want to find a Z to rebuild your gonna have to go searching EVERYWHERE.To find a rebuilder your probably going to spend about 5 to 10 thousand.If you do all the work yourself rebuilding autobody work and such.You'd end up paying ruffly 2500 rebuilding depending if it has to hit the frame machine.You can source the parts cheap over the internet rather then shiit yards.

 

I crashed my car on the interstate and insurance paid $16k to repair it. It wasn't salvaged even with that much damage.

You're not going to find a salvage title for 3k in repairs. I just cannot imagine that. Unless someone salvaged it when it shouldn't have been salvaged. Look for something closer to 8 or 10 grand in repairs if you're being realistic.
