I moved into a new place around Sept. of 2002. There was a guy across the street that had a silverstone. Never even heard of the 350Z before then.
I didn't think much of it (thought the tail lights looked lame) and never even walked over to talk to the guy about it.
A couple years later I got a second PT/FT job and the place I worked (still work at) the guy had a Black track model getting a Stillen installed and it was there for a couple of months off and on.
The rest is history. After I saw and spent so much time around that guys black track, it was only 2 years later I had my own (but red).
The ***** grew on me I guess.

It's been a long time, and I am not sure which event happened first, so I will tell each
- Baltimore Auto Show in 2002
- Seeing "The Run" at a movie theater in mid to late 2002
- The first one I saw on the road was a Chrome Silver; as I was exiting onto another highway, this Z passed me, and I was all excited and pointing it out to my gf at the time. Caught the fever man, thats when I caught the fever *nostalgic look up to the sky*

Seeing some asian guy getting out of his 350z at a movie theatre.. very casual area, but this guys wearing a 1k$ suit and has a bangin girl with him in a real short dress.. his car was very shiney and very nicely done - I knew right then and there I wanted one. Took a few years..
if he was in Newark, NJ...you would of been owning that car that night!

I was driving my 87 325 is and i was at a stop light. Then i saw these sick HID's coming up behind me. I was like WTF is that, when the light turned green, and a beautiful white Z rolled past me in the next lane. <3 at 1st sight!

but, isn't Paterson worse for carjacking and grand theft?
i wish my life was like that asians, but the opposite is true...my Z is dirty, i wear $100 suits, and my girl looks like she got banged, and she only wears pants...my life sux, hehe
as for OPs question, saw my first Z when my friend got one, he had already installed the veilside kit, sick stereo, and wheels

Blue has always been my favorite color on a car. The first Z I ever saw in my area, was a DB Touring 6MT.
That was right after the guy purchased it.
The color really stuck out, as it is one of the brightest blue's out there.
5 years later, I bought that car as soon as the guy traded it in. Was the first Z that I saw in person, and now I own it.

Geezz!!! i don't even remember where i was when i saw the first Z, but it only took me 2 weeks decided to get the Z. Before decided on the Z i considered 300ZX, but there aren't any new model since they don't make them anymore and i couldn't find the good old one around here, then i decided on the Z.

I dont remember the first time i saw the Z but i felt the same as you when I saw the GT-R two months ago in my area. I thought it was a lambo or ferrari from the far away but then I realized that it was the GT-R so I followed him to where he live but I couldn't get into his neigborhood cause it was country club (sugarloaf country club) right infront of my neigborhood. I never see the GT-R since then... =)

My 350 is my 3rd Z car so I followed all of the development news. Was at the dealer the 1st day they arrived but was looking for a gently used 95 TT at the time to replace my Z31. Couldn't find one, wife went to the dealer to check out the 350 and told me to buy one. 5 year, 4 months ago. No issues other than 1 window motor and the fuel filler recall. Other than feathering of course but that problem is gone now. Mine was the 1st 350 in my car club, now half the people with older gens have a 350 too.
