Thumbs down 6k/yr for car insurance...wtf

I just got a letter in the mail from my insurance company, Great American Insurance. The said they are no longer in the business of providing car insurance, and will not be renewing my policy in October. The real kicker is they sent me a rediculous quote from another company...I'm 29, with 2 points on my PA license, no accidents, currently paying 1,486 a year for 2 cars...full coverage/full tort on the Z and liability only on my integra. The new quote they sent me from these other THIEVES...
2,829.00...every SIX MONTHS

Needless to say i'm a little upset by this...I could buy a pro charger every year for that much! The new company is called 'Response' Insurance. So my current policy expires in October...can anyone recommend a place that has lower rates? Any with a 2 car discount? Thanks in advance.

285 for 6 months where do you live in the country, thats damn cheap. I pay 900 a year for the 350 and 879 a year for the Max and I am considered rural.

I'm in PA also but on the other side of the state. Try Erie Insurance Group and Progressive.

American Expresses! Most people do not know they offer insurance. At any rate, I pay 1050.00 per YEAR on a track model. Here are my specs:

27 male with no points in 4 years (knock knock)
Liability and comprehensive ($500/250 deduct).
I think my coverage is 500,000/250,000 (4 times the legal limit at any rate).

I get good service too. I would look into them. As for Response Insurance, I think the state of PA and OH sued them for deceptive practices, but I am not sure.

Lightbulb ahhhh !

male +married
That 7 letter "M" word is like gold when buying insurance. All of a sudden, it nullifies being the 4 letter "M" word.

Rates are also dependent on location... seems like you guys all live in some real nice areas.
