I have beeen scammed by this lowlife as well. I sent him some headlights in Dec so he can modify them. COmmunication was great in the beginning until he actually had my lights. In Feb he emailed me and told me he broke my housing and had to order a new one. Again a long time without communication. The end of April, he emails me and tells me that he messed up and sent my lights to another customer. At this point I did not want anything from them. I wanted my money back. I called him and actually talked to him. He told me me that he was moving shops and that he could not refund my money at the time. He tried to pass off some other lights he had made that were not close to what I wanted. He told me he would need to build the lights and then sell them to pay me the money. It has been well over 3 months since that converation and still no contact. I cant get ahold of him on the phone. Is his number still (701)440-1801 or something else? I am out $1450 and want my damn money. Im tired of the bullsh!t.

Just out of curiosity, did you do any research on these guys before deciding to have them work on your lights? It seems like more and more people keep falling for these clowns.

Given the age of this thread, I am guessing the answer is a big NO. Goes to show how easy it is to be a scammer...apparently you will never run out of easy marks.

Just contest the VISA charge and then take him to small claims court for the value of a new set of lights. If he doesn't show, you'll win by default.

A judgement is one thing, collecting on it is another entirely different matter.....

My buddy had a set of Evo X lights done by them right before I ordered. I used his experience in dealing with Nic and the outcome of the lights as my evaluation. His lights were made failry quick and came out nice at the time. They have since fallen apart. SOme of the LEDs dont work and a strip has now come off the mounting point.

The purchase was via paypal and VISA was not used. Its way past the point where I can go through Paypal to try to get any money back.

Did you pay with your Paypal balance, or was your card charged via your Paypal account? If you paid with the balance, yeah, you're hosed. If Paypal charged your card, you can still use the card to get the charge reversed.

I know how PayPal works. The charge was from bank account and not a credit card. If it was a CC I would have went that route long ago to dispute.

A couple of months ago some guy approached me at a Planet Zero meet in Houston claiming he was from Cincity, and could hook me up with some headlight mods.. Then I saw this post.

I really want the STi lense mod

I'd better learn how to bake my own headlights.

Didn't know this was still going on. I was one of his first customers unfortunately. I got super hosed and recently my headlight lit on fire! I never took the appropriate action, DONT FOLLOW IN MY FOOTSTEPS!!!! File your lawsuits and chase this bastard down, do it for me and the others that are now powerless against this fraud!!!

It was probably him considering he lives in TX now.

I heard he had organized some type of road rally in ND...charged all these people a buttload of money for an entry fee and then 'canceled' everything a few weeks ago and isn't giving anyone a refund.

How he continues to get away with this crap amazes me.

Pretty sure his remark was intended to point out the coverage you get using a CC and the lack thereof when using your bank account.

It isn't a smart *** remark - your credit card is a tool that provides insurance. If you want it to come from money you actually have, pay the card off immediately after a purchase (ie. same day). Many cards provide theft, damage or loss insurance for 12 months, and will fight retailers with fraudulent charges. Direct-draw services hooked to the internet, like Paypal, are just asking for problems. I wouldn't trust any company except perhaps a bank with my account numbers for direct draw.

Your situation might have benefited. If that is smart ***, then maybe you should be more of a smart ***.

Thanks for the advice. Had I done that I would not be in here posting as another person that got scammed by Dic at CinCity. Many of us are already pissed off at the whole situation and are seeking some information on ways to get our money back moving forward, not seeking input on what we did wrong in the past. I have already filed complant wit BBB but that will lead nowhere since Dic will not respond. My next course of action will be a lawsuit and or going to Texas and confronting the a$$hole in person. THat will not be a fun day for him.

Sorry to hear about all the Cincity BS ppl went thru..

i gota say, i went with lightwerkz ( cesar) and have had zero problems, had the lights back for other mods, and plan on replacing the Halos w brighter units soon as well.. thier pricing is far better than cincity anyways... he just does less flashy stuff than cincity... more OEM looking.. anyways theres my 2 cents.. for those who posted wanting the STI lens etc... hes very reasonable and does great work. Had my lights now for 2 years.

Can't believe this thread is still going. New people here and there. Nobody has gone to Texas to confront him? Or at least talked to him as of late.
