Default VIRTUAL REUNION OF PREORDER 2003 OWNERS

Now with the changing of the guard ( the introduction of the 370Z ) , I thought it would be interesting to see what has happened to all of the original , daring preorder owners from 2002 . It was a pretty close group made up of people like Dr. Bonz ( with his 2 million coats of Zaino ) , the BrickYard Rat , my good friend I made from West Virginia etc . None of us knew what we were getting into and formed a close group for safety . Where are you and that preorder Z today ? What did you do with your 350Z when you first got it ? What are you doing now ? What has changed ?
As for myself , when it came out I helped organize one of the first 350Z clubs up here in the Northeast and one of the first 350Z tours at Hampton Beach , NH ( you should have seen the looks we got ). Unfortunately that club is slowly disolving but many good friendships have come out of it and still exist . I went on to be a writer for Nissan Sport Magazine , covering their European scene , and finally I helped found and organize the UK 350Z owners club ( www.nissansportz.com ) which is still very active and one in which I am still a director. My wife and I go over frequently to visit our good friends in Britain .I still have my 350Z and it still puts a smile on my face every time I fire it up . Let's hear from some of you others .......

My Z was a preorder, the first in GA, but I'm the second owner, love that car and I'll NEVER sell it.

I pre-ordered my 350Z on 2/19/02. Performance model super black. Still runs and looks like new. Now have 36,700 miles.

First day preorder / Aug 2002 Delivery . . . 6 years and 3 months later, I still have mine with almost 90K miles. Love it, dont want to get rid of it ever. Have been looking for a new car for a couple years, but nothing really excites me enough to have a car payment.

I am either going to remain in the Nissan (infiniti) family or make the jump to a German offering. No matter what it will have to play nice with my 350 or its gone!

I placed my "350Z Pre-Release Order" in February of 2002.

Still only have less than 3500 miles on my 2003 silverstone Track. I can't imagine taking it out of "my collection."

I was a first day pre-order with August '02 delivery. Unfornately it was totalled in May '07 (not my fault). I replaced it with an identical '07 Touring 6 spd. The weird thing was the '07 was $2,000 cheaper than the '03 cuz with the '03 I paid sticker plus $500 and the '07 i paid $200 over invoice. To be truthful, the '07 is a much better car cuz of the better power, bose, no bugs, etc., etc. I thought I would miss the '03 but I don't.

Hello everyone, not a 2003, but seeing your names sure brings back memory. I pre-ordered my ZR back in 2002, the same week when the 1st 350Z was delivered. Still remember the salesman said to me: " You know they don't make a convertable 350Z, right?", the look on his face was like "are you stupid or something?" when I gave him the $1000 deposit. Then when the first ZR showed up, I decided to wait a while for Nissan to work out the bugs (tire roar, window motor, etc.), mostly because of the invaluable information you guys shared here. Turned out to be a good move.

My 04.5 has about 25000 km (15000 miles) on it today, it's a Canadian car. Still love it everytime I jump in it. I don't come to this forum often any more. It is just lucky that i see this post. Hope everyone is doing well.

Great to hear from you my neighbor to the North . Just a quick story . Back then , the Brits didn't have a Zaino distributor , so I closed a deal with a Canadian distributor for them and he shipped a " group buy " over to them and they were thrilled . Unfortunately can't remember his or the company name . If he is reading this , let me know who you are . And those are some great pics of your car , by the way ! Where are you in Canada ? Good luck !

I remember a fellow named Steve from Dobbs Ferry , New York . Are you still out there Steve ? Anyone know him . I think he had a Silverstone preorder if I remember correctly . He was the guy who gave us all the idea of not using the predrilled holes on the front bumper to mount our license tag but instead used plastic ties , tieing the inverted plastic tag frame instead to the grill. Then later along came the series of special front adaptors created by a member on this site . I still have the ties on and it always looked better placed down low there, rather than higher up on the front end where Nissan wanted it to go . Do you guys remember all that and all the time and talk we spent on it , telling each other to warn the dealer not to drill out those holes , worrying if airflow to the engine was being interrupted ? It's amazing how much time we spent on little diddly stuff like that .

Oooh yeah, sure remember all those discussions about the front plate. There were bunch of other posts on extended warranty, paint issues, grounding wires (which nobody talk about any more), sucky Bose, etc. That was fun, I was on the site every day checking for new info. I looked hard to find Zaino to put on the car because of the information from you guys.

I live in Denver CO and Calgary AB. The car is in Denver for the last couple years where the pictures were taken. Thru this forum, I connected up with a very nice group of Z owners here in Denver and have regular functions. The mountain roads here are made for the Z. But will be moving back to Canada soon and taking the Z with me.
