First Chicago Z (photo's/review) -not my car
I went to Gerald Nissan in Naperville IL tonight to see the fabled Silver Z parked in the showroom. I called ahead to hear it was there and the owner was going to pick it up tommarow and the car was locked and nobody could sit in it.
I decided to head down there (about 40 miles from my house) after dinner and BARLY make it in time. But to my suprise there it was, a Silver Touring 6MT. Walking around I was again in awe. The last time I saw one in person was in Feb @ the chicago auto show, but this time I could get REALLY close. There were two other onlookers, we starting talking. "Are you a preorder?" And to my suprise, one man said "Yes, it's my car." So I told him my story (a march preoder super black touring 5AT all mods). He tells me he just got in from the airport and headed over to the dealership as soon as he got the message.
So he gives me a nice look (nice business man maybe 45+?) and says "Take a seat." So here I am a 21 year old male looking @ my dream car I have to wait 2 weeks for and then BLAM. I open the door see the window move ever so slightly. Then I sit, oh lord this was moving. Within 45 miliseconds I was @ home. I drive a 2k Eclipse which has a high window level and the Z was maybe an inch or two higher, but nothing major. Was the interior cheazy, are you nutz? The seat was like sitting in my mommies arms as a baby. The stearing wheel smaller then my eclipse but in a good way. The visibility was very similar and people are right, the rear view is limited, but not something you couldn't get used to. I love it, the smell, the look, the everything. No NAV so I didn't get a chance to play, but @ that moment I knew I wasn't going to sleep untill I got my Super Black Z home.
The owner had a glow about him. Something I couldn't place. But something I couldn't wait to feel. BAD NEWS though for Illinois preoders. Apparently if your Z was going to be shipped to a state with front licence plate laws then the FACTORY drills the holes for front plate. I heard this before and now was confirmed. I fell in love all over again. I can't wait. . . No sleep, there is work to do, there is a Z about.

It's the only Z for 1500 miles on the road. He's a 16 year old again...
I didn't get a chance to drive it, no reason to even ask. But I can answer any questions on the interior but I think most of them have already been answered.
