All rumor at this point. No one will know for sure until Nissan of North America announces it.

there's a better chance there will be a V8 350Z instead of twin-turbo...

The 6-cylinder Z is getting trounced by Vettes and 911s, and the class the Z runs in does not allow forced induction. So, to be competetive the Z needs more engine. Nissan has a V8 in the FX45, Q45, M45 and in the new Titan and Armada trucks... so it should be easy to make it fit.

there is little room even for the V6 in the Z... pushing it to a v8 would mean elongating the nose section, or dropping the motor a significant amount for clearance... but that WOULD be kinda neat to see a V8 in there...

yep... a V8 would probably mean a few body changes, but it sure would be an awesome car. I'd be first in line to buy one.

I dont get it if the V6 is hard to fit then how does the FX45 which is built on the same FM platform as the G35 and Z have a V8 with the looks of things no problem at all?

A body and a chassis are two different things.

i don't think a TT or a V8 will ever find a home in the Z. i think it's been adequately proven in recent history that not many people are willing to fork out $40K for a japanese sportscar, no matter how performance capable it is. the main objective of the return of the Z was to produce an "affordable" sportscar; our only hope is that nissan/infiniti will put out a V8 (skyline) GTR for the U.S. in the near future.

btw, aside from warranty issues, why would anyone need or desire a nissan produced TT Z when there are aftermarket turbocharger systems out there that can be installed for a few thousands and produce more power than one that nissan would produce themselves??

I've asked my dealer here and they told me it would be a Super charger not turbo or V-8.

heh this thread should be renamed to rumor central

first off there will not be a v8 or TT in the Z. TT would raise price above that of the market.

a V8 would add a few hundred pounds to the car... and in all the wrong places, it would no longer be able to handle at all, way too much weight, this is the problem with most domestics, too much weight.

as for the supra, its pretty much been said itll be in the 3L area, and will also be N/A. it will use the refined frame from the IS300. there will not be a V8 in that either.

for those still unconvinced aobut the V8 thing, start listing off the past/current V8 powered japanese sports cars. 1 will do. see what you come up with. GOOD LUCK!

EDogg, warranty is HUGE for me. Plus a factory TT would be more reliable than any aftermarket TT. I don't care what anyone says.

don't mean to sound like a devil's advocate, but we're talking about the future, and not the past/current. 5 years ago, who ever predicted that the altima would carry not only a v6, but one that has 3.5L displacement outputting 240hp?? what car manufacturers will put out will depend on market demand. car companies like nissan spend lots of time and money on market research and make their production decisions based on their research results as well as competition. as long as people continue to get richer, and oil prices does not skyrocket, and production costs continue to drop, i think eventually in the future, there will be v8 japanese sportscars. personally, i think slapping 4.3L v8 in the IS is ludicrous, since the car is more or less the size of a corolla, but toyota has chosen to produce one because of competition and market demand. the same thing can happen to japanese sportscars...although probably not for a few years.

Just so you know, it is confirmed by Lexus that a v8 is300 will debut next year in the current frame/bodystyle...if what you're saying is true it doesn't seem out of the range of possibility that a v8 will be at least offered with a Supra.

Fully loaded 350Z's easily cost about 40 grand, so there goes that comment about no one willing to pay that much. And those dont have turbos or anything else.......
