Question though, all you guys telling him to go get a civic to learn to drive then get a Z... whats the problem with starting in a real car, as long as you learn anyway? A dumbass kid will crash whatever you put him in, its the driver who gets into accidents, not the car.
I'd say, if you are lucky enough to have someone buy you any car, be very thankful, take extra care of it, and focus on being safe and confident before you worry about going fast.
Wanna get some experience? Go to a performance driving school, the instructors there will show you just how little you actually know about car control.

lol i love these kinds of threads, u should have never started this thread or stated ur age. Whenever our members hear someone like u getting a z, they go crazy. And its because the majority of ppl getting into accidents are teenagers. I remember reading somewhere that the z is the most totaled car, simply because many young people don't know how to drive a car with that much power. But kudos to you, and im not saying that ur gonna crash ur car, cuz if u dont abuse the car, and show off by driving fast and sh it, nothings gonna happen. My college friends sometimes make fun of me for not driving crazy with such a nice car, but that doesnt get to me, cuz i love my fu ckin car so much that i wouldnt risk getting into an accident. congrats man

Cause I'm sick of having insurance rates go higher because people make the mistake. Also most kids will crash and kill themselves (emphasize on the kill themselves) in a sports car faster than they would in a Honda Civic.
No way in hell can you justify the 350z being a good car for a beginner. My cars rear has stepped out on me a few times on the 1-2 shift, so most likely an inexperienced driver would not know what to do in the situation. Also the car is entirely way too fast. The first thing they would want to do when they have their buddy with them is hit 150 mph. In a Z it's too easy to do.

When you can afford to buy one yourself. Not when it's your "first car and daddy bought it for me". Daddy needs to grow up himself and quit buying things "that I never had as a kid", then teach the value of a dollar.
