I got in a little accident a few weeks ago, cracked the bumper and dented the drivers side fender. I told progressive i wanted to fix it myself (choose my own shop) i guess. I was planning to use the check they gave me to buy a replacement bumper and fender from somewhere cheaper and do the work myself, hopefully pocketing some money or getting an aftermarket bumper.
Now, the check needs to be endorsed by Nissan Motor Acceptance because their the leinholder but when i called them the machine said to send the check, acc number, and repair shop bill to them. Obviously i wouldnt have a repair shop bill, is there any way i could get around this? By choosing to fix it myself?

Yah see heres my problem. The bumper was cracked and the drivers fender slightly dented. But the insurance rep wrote off the whole headlight because of a broken bracket and the reinforcement bar + foam because it had some cracks. So the total came out to be $1940 in damage - $1000 deductible.
I bought a bumper off a member here so the only thing that needs fixing is my fender and ive got a check for $940. Im thinking that i could take it and only get that fixed, send the bill to nissan and they sign it off assuming that was the only thing that was damaged. For all they know i have a $0 deductible and the insurance only quoted $940 in damage, for the fender only.

If you do not own the car out right, of course the check is not endorsed to you. If you wanted to do the work yourself you should of never involved Progressive trying to get extra for yourself you sneaky devil you!! Now you have to take it up the Kazoo and get a real estimate and repair job and have Nissan pay them.
OR
Find some crummy sly shop that will write up a fake receipt for you as paid cash. Send that plus the check to nissan and have them pay YOU direct. Prob Solved.
See you in Jail!
(reasons why i say stop going to the dealers. If you had a good mechanic and used them all the time they could of possibly helped you get paid in this situation)

You aren't really going to lose anything. The lien holder will simply apply the insurance check to your outstanding balance. Your car will be paid off a little quicker that way.
