if you plan on switching over, I would try and get one with the HR motor...

Hahahahahah! Yeah, most sports cars on the planet can be made to look good if you're willing to completely refabricate the entire body!

if you do get Z..get the 370 but then again id wait until the bugs surface..no telling with that new tranny....06?nah i wouldnt risk it with the whole oil consumption thing...wouldnt get the earlier models either..i own a 04 and i love it but id rather have a HR or the new VHR under my hood...there isnt that many parts for the 06 and i doubt that thats going to change too much since the HRs are out and the ofcourse the 370..idk its a decision your going to have to make...this is just my opionion..good luck man

Lol Your thinking about going to a Z from a Vette Im thinking either boost my Z or buy a Vette, both cars are great but if your anything like me and cant leave the Z stock you will spend some $$$$ modding> rims, body kit, suspension, exhaust and soon boost ,with the vette maybe suspension & performance, never really seen a vette with aftermarket wheels or bodykit they look great OEM. decision's decision's

dude! you got the car that most want and dont have.keep the vette..i gave up my ls1 and got the z,i miss the tourqe big time!why would you want to downgrade?trust me man dont do it.test drive one before you do anything.dont get me wrong the z looks the part, but lacks on the power.but ,what did you think people would say?who knows maybe the power isnt an issue with you. the z in my opinion looks better than most and has enough juice to keep youre heart pumping but no way would i even contemplate what youre thinking of doing

If you'd like an opinion from someone who has owned both, don't.

I had an 01 C5, traded it for on 05 C6 which I drove until 2007 when I *thought* I was "ready for a change". The 350Z seemed like exactly what I was looking for. Small, sporty, decently nimble in stock form, etc. Now, don't misunderstand, I have *nothing* bad to say about the 350Z.

It, literally, WAS all those things and reliable and fairly economic as a daily driver. But it never had the raw "oomph" the Vettes had. Not to mention the 350Z has NO space... nada, zilch, look up "tiny" in Websters. lol

Anyway, long story short, even though the 350Z was a great car in it's own right, ultimately it never "did it" for me. After only a year and a half, I sold it and moved on. No big deal, I'm a car guy. I like sports and enthusiast cars. If I have my way, I'll have owned and driven one of everything before I die. But, if I had it to do over again, I'd have just driven someone else's 350Z, enjoyed it and kept the Vette.

My two cents, though YMMV.

Regards.

I think you'd start missing the raw power after a while. Both are good cars though...

My father had vettes all my life, and although we don't live in the same state anymore I have had significant seat time in his 02 C5, even at the dragstrip. I would say ignore what people are saying about raw power, etc and simply drive both to compare. Personally, although I love vettes, I would take my 07 HR Z any day. It feels much more nimble and I love the handling. The C5 seems large and heavy at times, although I know the weight is similar. My father has also driven my Z and likes it a lot, although he would prefer his vette. Either way, you are talking about two great vehicles with extensive enthusiast networks. If you do make the change keep us informed as to your opinion.

The 350z and 370z look very similar. I dont see much of an upgrade buying a 370z. Ill probably buy a new 2011 370z once they work out the quirks and keep the 350z.

Saw the 350Z when it first came out and that's all I could think of. First car in a long time that did that. So I bought my CS 350Z Touring/6 speed new in '03
and loved it. It did have the tire wear issue but that was about it. I ordered a new '06 Black/Black GT and just before it came in, there was talk of the new '07's. I told them I'd have to wait and compare. Well, I waited, and waited, and waited and still nothing from Nissan. In the meantime of Nissan jacking around with no info or cars, I caught "vette fever". So after 4+ years with my 350Z, I bought my new '07 vette. As much as I liked my Z, the vette's torque and power just slams you back in the seat. It's a different type of muscle for sure. I did finally test drive an '07 and for me, it just didn't do it. My '03 felt faster and I liked the road feel much better. Even though the '07 was "improved" (i.e. engine, suspension, etc.) it just felt soft. I still miss my '03 Z and I have to say, the new 370Z has that same look that got my attention with the 350. I'd wait for it if I were you.

Anyway, here's a couple of pics of both my bad boys before I sold my Z back to the dealership and a couple of the newest.
