Talking Open Road Racing

Hey everyone, this might be old news but then again I had never heard of this until I saw it in TIME magazine last week! Go figure...

But check out this site though,

http://www.openroadracing.com

this was the race that was covered in the article in TIME

http://www.openroadracing.com/html/bonneville_100.html

I assume they have these events every summer, and probably sometimes in between during the year. But man...$650 to go all out for 100 miles...I would definitely drive all the way to NV for that...no questions asked

alright, enjoy

This is the same group, I believe, that has had a couple of fatalities over the duration of its existence. You better be ready with your car in top shape or you could blow your car up and/or lose your life. I wouldn't run my Z at 150mph, but would drop down to 130mph to keep from blowing it up. Averaging 130mph for 50 minutes or less could allow you to back off the throttle once each way to get the oil back up into your heads and stave off damage. These people are very serious and the runs are done on 2 lane roads. I would change every drivetrain fluid before I tried it, if I did it at all.
