I still find it hard to believe 35,000 were sold in the US when the highest VIN number I've seen is around 22,000. That total may be world wide.. I believe it's closer to 25,000 in the US.. Not sure if that insludes Canada or not..

Anyone have a higher VIN than 22000??

I can't remember how but one set is for auto and other for manual. But yeah it's around 35000 Zs.

it's the most sold sports car last year, beating the vette. 17 million new cars were sold last year, I think.

Regardless of the transmission, the VIN number is in order.. The only difference is when side air bags are ordered. With the side/curtain air bags, the first digit is a 0, If you don't have the side/curtain air bags, your first digit will start with a 1. I'm talking about the last 5 numbers.. Mine is 001890 which means I have the side/curtain air bags and my car is # 1890 of the line. To this day, I have never seen a duplicate last 5 around and I have been told by a friend who does work for Nissan in Japan there are no duplicate last 5 numbers.. There all in consective order.. So where are the 30,000+ cars?? when the highest number around is 22000??

I do know quite a few 350Z's were lost back in October 2002 when that Haul lines auto transport ship ran aground in japan during a typhoon, caught fire and sunk but an exact number was never given.. A friend who owns the local Nissan dealership said he lost 25 Pathfinders to that event. There was a total of 6500 cars on that ship.

So.. where are all these cars???

Speed350: Now that sounds more like it.. It makes much more sense.. With the highest VIN around at 22000, I think you hit the nail on the head.. I never thought that the 35,000 total was just for US.. I still see very few 350's on the road.. I did over 800 miles this past week and only saw 3.. That's really not a lot.. And I still get stopped all the time by people who have never seen a 350 before.. I see many more H2 Hummers than 350Z's.. Anyone know how many H2's there making??

Enjoy..

Yea, I don't see very many Z's around here either. Not that I am on the roads all that much. But even when I am I may see 1. I too still have people asking what it is. Not nearly as much as in March , but still asking none-the-less.

When I went and purhcased mine, the salesman had a book with breakdown of projected production by color in % and etc. That was a long time ago...December 2002. But in total, I swear I can remember there being 25,000 in the US, and the extra 10,000 were for other parts of the world.

there are no official figures but nissan sold 12500 in 2002 alone (US) ... their sales goal was 30k in the US which they reached back in may so 35k is an estimate

22,576 were sold through July by Nissan North America. August figures should be out today or tomorrow.

I've only seen 2 Z's since they've been out, and I live in Dallas. Matter of fact, I've seen more ferraris and lambos then I've seen 350z's.

that link you posted shows 13256 in 2002 and the roughly 22k number you posted for 03 thus far, so rouighly 35k for 03's in the US not counting august. note those are by calander year and the count starts fresh for z's in jan but doesnt show the 02 sales in the 03 chart
so ah... as i said... upwards of 35k

yeah, like jcr847 said, when you add the two numbers up, you get more than 35k cars. Check 2002 dec numbers and you'll get total Z sold for 2002

I stand corrected. Note the 35k does include Canadian sales.
