New Sport Z magazine
This is kind of like the guys who have a S/C installed and don't share their impressions (experience) with the other guys. Its like saying go out and buy a supercharger for yourself and learn the hard way. I thought this was a forum where we help eachother?
I personally have an after market exhaust and don't plan on buying one in the near future. However I would still like to know which exhaust did what.
What subscriber will squeal?

since courtesyparts has the magazine, im gonna drive over there and buy it. i also want to know how the shootout went. will post results after i have read them. hope i dont become the "uncool" person for doing this but i am really anxious to know the results and i can see that there are a lot of other ppl who are really anxious too.
This is a strange thread. I can understand subscribers defending the magazine to a degree, as it is probably the most important publication for real Z enthusiasts and serious modders. I just can't believe that no one is willing to spill the beans on what is tops and what is not. Strange...
Hmm.. love me or hate me I just gonna say a little of the Shoot Out:
The Borla is not the one who lost power, its was the 5Zigen
The Stillen was the best TQ
The Borla was the best HP
But like I said this #'s are relative because I saw better #'s for each one of them!!!
The Magazine is very Pro and its a keeper for all they have for the Z33... its not only the shoot out thats count is the fact that you can read a magazine dedicaded to the Z!

As much as this may suprise some of the good folks at my350z.com; I believe this appreciative/hostile/imformative "dialog" is a good thing.
I am the publisher and owner of Sport Z Magazine and I believe we put out a quality product. In order for us to continue publishing Sport Z for another 3 years and beyond, we need subscriptions and we need advertisers. Marketing 101 pure and simple. BTW, if somebody spills the shootout beans, that's OK.
We have not put an embargo on the exhaust shootout stats; there would be no way to do that. The readers who have received the fall issue simply believe that publishing the numbers would be unfair to our subscribers who have yet to receive their issues in the mail.
It appears we have "offended" some of you and for that, I'm truly sorry. And, for the gentleman who was really pissed, guess a special subscription price would be out of the question. Lowrider, lighten up, it's only one article.
We will publish the results in about two weeks on our Home Page, but not before that. Even though the Fall 2003 went out in the mail one week ago, it sometimes takes 3 weeks for the USPS to get busy. When I feel that most of our subscribers have received their issue, we'll post the results for all to see.
For those of you who are subscribers to Sport Z, thank you.
For those of you who have our back, thank you.
For those of you who don't support the views of the above, we're open 24/7. Join us; you too can infuriate the masses next issue.

Okay, okay...
Shortly, the details of the test will be all over this forum -- and others -- at which time we'll have the fun of dissecting them ad infinitum. Meanwhile, here's some hard reporting. The cars were baselined with the OEM exhaust, before every system was tested, to account for any environmental fluctuations. Also, an attempt was made to keep the engines cool enough so the fan didn't turn on during the test.
In reverse order of hp increase:
5-Zigen (muffler only): lost hp; really loud; light
Nismo: not quite the power of Injen; stock 'type' of sound
Injen: consistent power across rpm-band
Stillen: most torque (7.3); adds 10 lbs to car
Borla: most hp (8.2); lowest torque

Well, I don't see the problem with posting the results either. I hate to think that the only reason why you got the mag is for these results. I am sure that there are plenty of other things in this mag besides this one article that make it worth its price.

thanks to those that provided actual info!
Have yet to receive my copy and still looking forward to it.
I still do not quite get the attitude of those that felt they had to "protect" the info.

stillen may have the best overall #'s as far as gains go, but there's one number missing that can knock stillen down in the rankings....$$$$$$$. that belongs to borla, so i cant complain at all!

P.S. Anyone know if courtesyparts.com still has SportZ mags in stock? I just placed my online order (also got "The Run" DVD for the hell of it).
