Stillen is chillin like a villian

but it is still north of $85 per HP, insane. 350Z is tuned really well from the factory, I might just leave mine alone.

Do you guys know that if you add a CAI (like Injen) to any of those exhaust systems you could double the hp gains.
I did with the Stillen (18hp over stock base line with CAI) however the CAI by itself was good for only 3-4 hp.

Hey, u dont have to buy it, I've tested it more than ones on a dynojet. WE have also tested Borla with CAI on the Dyno (good for 8hp).
I have done over 15 different dynos on G35coupes with various set ups PM me if you want to know the results( I dont want to hijack the post)

Actually, based on what local speed shops have told me (the people that do the tuning, not the ones that sell the products), this is true... kind of.

I doubt you will double your HP gains with both CAI and exhaust, but every mechanic I talked to said you generally will get more HP gains by installing both a custom exhaust and a CAI than you will by installing either alone.

It was the 18hp I was really questioning (and trying to prod Sport Z a little).

You can see a poor #'s on the Dyno but in the track and in the street is a hall new story... Trust me on this one, the Z can get a lot better with one of this exhaust (except the 5zigen never deal with it) I saw a excellent performance when I put my Borla in streets and in the track (1.5 mph in the trap speed) and for me thats is the important thing... like I said this is one more article, and a good one too!

I guess my biggest question is what do we think about this in comparsion to the dynos that are already out there. Injen dynoed their exhaust, and got like 17 rwhp, and they even gave the dyno charts. What are we really to believe?? I like independent tests better, but man, that is a huge difference. Now the others didn't have the dyno sheets, but they claimed a lot more also. What really throws me off is the injen dyno though.

Question HKS, Greddy?

Okay, time for HKS and Greddy to stand up to the plate. Why are they taking so long to release their exhaust systems....R&D doesn't take this long.

They probably realized that there isn't much hp to be gained, and are hesitant to market a $1000 exhaust that doesn't do anything. I can see the ad now....

"Just Released...GReddy true dual exhaust! Pound the pavement with 7.965 more horsepower! You can now keep up with a stock Z with it's spare tire removed! Retail price $1000"

Yeah, that is funny, but true. I still have to wonder about about the injen especially, cause they did provide dyno charts. Just seems like the numbers are low, too low really.

That is my feeling exactly! I am waiting for HP mods to be proven. I cannot see paying $1000 for under 10 hp. I want real hp with dependability. The SC and TT kits are going to have to show dependability to me before I take a new, well preforming car and pay to be their test bed.

I'd love to see a shoot-out between headers as well. But considering they take a good 6 hours to change, I doubt that's going to happen.
