Maybe it was owned by the person that reposted earlier today or the other gazillion times that it's been posted. Can't believe this thread made it an entire page without someone calling repost. Ancient news.

^Agreed, I can't stop looking at you avater... except i'm at work

Regarding this thread, it isn't entrapment because they aren't making you break the law, they are just presenting you with an opportunity to. It is like their hooker stings... the give you to opportunity, whether you approach them or they approach you the ball is in your court to say yes or no. You know if you say yes you're breaking the law. You know if you race you are breaking the law. The police aren't forcing you to do it, just giving you the option to make a good decision... or a bad one.

Look out if you are on the hard streets of Barrie, they have a white late model civic for the same purpose . They got some douche on an old local forum that no longer exists, otherwise I would post a link! The scenario was a bit different though since Barrie is not a huge city and the word gets around fast. The civic tried to race him at a light so he gave in and raced. Then there was a cruiser waiting at the next street up who pulled him over and the civic kept going in order to keep his cover.

That's pretty much, actually, that's exactly what I said a few posts back.

well if you are the fortunate person who gets caught by this, then hopefully you make it worth wild and really test those mods you put in your car. I doubt you will be the winner in the end but you never know... Otherwise drive it right...

There are cars in the right lane and I want to get out of the fast lane b/c I have someone behind me who clearly wants to go faster. The odds are I will accelerate so that I can get past the super slow people in the right lane to move over out of the fast lane. And then I get a ticket for speeding.

Just one example...there are 100 more I could come up with.

Im not saying that just b/c a certain car type is around people should be allowed to drive recklessly. What I'm saying is that at the end of the day, had that cop in a sports car not been there, the speeding or whatever that the driver was ticketed for would not have happened at all.
you are going 65 in a 55 regardless. How should you not get a ticket.

wow. i havent heard of this in my area, but that would certainly cut down on street racing. there seems to be a few flaws though. I heard some one say that texas state law (i dont know if this is true, much less if its this way in other states) says you do not have to pull over to a car that is not clearly marked with police badging. Also, whats to keep punks from putting lights like those on their own cars? That cop said that it would be difficult for someone to impersonate one of those cars, but i doubt that, especially with the fabrication capabilities of many car enthusiasts out there.

Not sure about Texas, but Indiana requires that the police vehicle be clearly marked or the officer in a "uniform of distinction". It wouldn't be difficult to duplicate the lighting, but highly illegal. Just having the lights mounted here in Indiana is illegal even if you don't turn them on.

I've seen a white camaro cruising the 580 Hayward / Pleasanton route with the custom license plate "CHUMP" ... California Highway Undercover Motor Police.

too funny! Just yesterday I was cruising on 35 and a yellow GTO(the 5.7 not the 6.0) pulled up next to me and acknowledged me with a nod so I waved. I happened to notice that he was wearing a police uniform. He pulled ahead of me a little and I could see the lights in the rear window. I noticed that I started to get radar pings ever now and then. He went to exit and slowed way down and thats when the radar started screaming!

In houston years ago on westheimer they had some unmarked cars like this.
I never got messed with by one but they didn't pull people over, they'd just rev at another car and of course the other guy would do something stupid, then the cops would radio ahead and have the marked cop car pull you over. Of course this could all be ******** too becuase i never saw em just heard of em. Most houston cops took the shaft after the big K-mart bust though so they got was coming to em.

All and all this wont help much, most street racers meet on the busy streets and stop and set up a place to go so a cop in uniform wouldn't get far. They will catch the kids light to light racing is all.

There was another prob in houston where the thugs were gettin white suburbans with police packages and pullin people over and car jacking them. So don't pull over, just drive the speed limit to nearest police station ...... if anything you waste thier time and lower thier ticket amount maybe making this tactic not time effiecent.
