Default One problem: keeping your license!

I was a bit freaked out today by how effortlessly the car goes at higher speeds, or what I once considered to be higher speeds. Just casually driving onthe freeway today, I accelerated gently past some traffic and noticed my speedo was in the mid-90s. Yikes! It felt more like 70. The car is absolutely rock-solid, smooth, stable and quiet at that speed and is still accelerating. It seems like 130 would be just as effortless.

How can I avoid speeding tickets now?

(I'm not using cruise control due to the breaking-in rule about not keeping the engine at a constant RPM. So that's my excuse for gassing it all the time and zooming ahead. It's for the good of the vehicle, you see? )

My advice: Sell the car quick and buy an old VW Beetle. You can have the thrill of danger without breaking the speed limit

I prefer the Escort Passport 8500 used in conjunction with the Escort shifter ZR3.

And yes, laser/lidar jamming does work. The ZR3 was tested extensively by the guys are http://www.radartest.com and they said that it successfully jammed all their lidar tests.

Just keep in mind that radar/laser JAMMERS are illegal in many states, including California.

Radar/laster DETECTORS are legal everywhere AFAIK.

Actually laser jammers are 100% legal in all states, except for Virginia. Laser devices are governed by the FDA and are therefore not subjected to the same restrictions of radar devices.

Correction: Laser jammers ARE legal in all states at this time. They are under the FDA's jursidiction and not the FCC. For once we can say "horay for buracracy" Those two agencies will probably be fighting this out for atleast another year or tow.

Radar Jammers are NOT legal anywhere. Exception: if you have a valid ham radio "extra" license you are allowed to transmit on the "radar frequencies" with sufficient power to create a jammer. I would not recommend though trying to use this as a justification in court however even though it is technically legal. Those "rocky mountian phazor" things are just fake crap. Proven repeatably as fakes.

Radar detectors are illegal in a couple of states and the District of Columbia. But this changes frequently too.

Trust me, they're illegal in CA.

Here's a linky link if you don't believe me...

Nizl,

I think you are confused. I quote from the page you referred to:

Q : What about active laser jammers?
A : Active laser jammers are completely different from active radar jammers. Active laser jammers transmits a series of invisible light pulses, which there are no laws regarding the transmission of invisible light. Active laser jammers are completely legal.

BTW, the "passive radar jammers" and the "black widow" jammers referred to in the link above are totally bogus and do not work. I'm sure this is some off-shoot of the Rocky Mountain Radar scam.
