Default Nissan Dealer and Synthetic oil

First oil change is coming up soon, and I also want to have the car serviced at my Nissan dealer.

Will the dealer be able to provide synthetic oil for the oil change?

Or do I have to bring in my own synthetic oil for the dealer to use?

bring yer own... dealerships don't usually have it and if they do they charge 3x your cost at Pep Boys

I just got mine done at the dealer and requested Mobil1 and it was no problem until i saw how much they raped me for. They also charged me 100 bucks for some oil flush nonsense, i think i got scammed. I think i might go to Wal-Mart for oil changes from now on, $28 for Mobil1 and you can watch them do it through the glass in the waiting room.

i went to wal-mart and got a 5 quart jug for around 20 bucks (they were running a sale...but, i hear this "sale" is always there).

never buy the synthetic oil at the dealer...they will charge 10-12 bucks a quart.

jckolnturn - i think you got scammed as well...i think my oil change was around 20 or 30 bucks if that...i'll check the receipt in my car...i keep them all.

I got a full synthetic oil change, filter, and a "flush" for around $60 at Firestone, I'm buying my own oil and filters from now on!

yup I paid 60$.

Ive always said oil changes arent worth doing yourself, and if your doing dino juice I still believe this, but for synthetic, Ill now be doing the changes myself, 20$ in oil 5$ filter, more than 50% less.

I put mine in at the first scheduled oil change, 3,250 I think... It's in your maintenance book. I'm doing the "schedule 1" maintenance which has a oil and filter change earlier than 7,500 miles.

i put my synthetic oil in at about 6K miles. i was going to put it in at 3K..but when i went in...they wanted 12 bucks per quart for synthetic...and they only had 2 quarts. so, i just did the regular oil for the first oil change. moved over to synthetic for the second oil change. i have about 7500 miles on the car.

Here our local sanitation company provides us with 1 gallon jugs and a special funnel that fits perfectly in the top so you don't make a mess pouring it in. We simply leave it curb side with our trash, they take it away and leave a fresh jug or 2 for the next time.
