Default Found the rattle that z350z mentioned!

I also heard the same type noise that "z350z" posted earlier about the glass/glass metal type grind or rattle. I had a passenger hunt it down for me and what she found was the clip where the passenger visor snaps into place rattles. If you apply pressure on it, sound is gone, likewise if you flip the visor down no rattle. Needless to say I will be taking it in to the dealer in the morning to have looked at...just thought I would pass this along.

Hopefully this is an isolated problem.

It's all in the design... the fix? Modified design or preventative measures.

Isn't there a production date somewhere in your cars?

Someone post, then we'll compare.

Default Tracked it down!

Ahh! I tracked it down further -- it's coming from the passenger-side visor itself. You can test it by unclipping the visor and tapping it; you will hear the same rattle/vibration sound. If you flip up the vanity mirror cover (so the light comes on), it doesn't happen. I think it's caused by the metal contacts used to form the switch that turns the little light on when the cover is opened. (You can see this if you pop off the cover over the light).

I will ask the dealer about getting a replacement visor.

Anyone else notice this?

Default Rattle/buzz

I notice a rattle/buzz sound as well. Most of the time it happens at freeway speeds, and when you go over a bump. Have not tracked it down yet, but will try the visor.

How have you experienced the rattle? You're in VA right? As far as I know, no Z's have been delivered yet, unless you work with NNA...

Thanks for further details on that z350z. I'm going into the dealer at noon today and will hopefully update folks more when I get back as to what their solution is.

Thanks again!

I received a confirmation fax from NNA a few days after I ordered mine... I originally went to Brown's, but their salesman had an error on his sheet that said the Track model only came in AT... I ended up arguing with him, and he refused to believe me when I told him that the Track model only came in a 6 speed... what an idiot...

Regardless, I'm confident mine will arrive this week since my VIN is in the mid-700s...

Haha! I saw that same sheet when I ordered mine three days ago. (Silverstone Track) The dealer sheet said 5AT by the Track. I set him straight and he was smart enough (or knowlegable enough) not to argue with me. Oh, this'll kill you: MSRP, delivery in 90 days. Central Carolina Nissan, Sanford, NC.

One other thing - when i configured my Track on Nissan's web site the printout said it would have the leather, power seats, and upgraded stereo! I wish that were true, but I know it isn't!
