I have no clue either, but it does it on wet or dry pavement both. You guys are mentioning tire pressure but what do you suggest as being correct? Mine are currently set a 34psi cold.

As mentioned before solid subframe bushings and possible adjustable traction arms are going to be the best solutions.

I have a 07.. i have that wheel hop problem first i though i rev it up too much then let go the clutch.. it turn out .. is the throw out bearing is lose.. and it become a big noise under the car.. when i let the gear idle.. i will hear it shaking.. is loud.. then took the car back to dealer was still under warranty they fixed up for me change my clutch, flywheel and throw out bearing of course.. costs me 189 total for the clutch... now it feel smooth and way faster then before... no more wheel hoppin...

I have the same wheel hop problem you describe.2008 base 6 speed with quaife differential. Maybe solid diff bushings may help but i really doubt it will cure it altogether.
I would like to find a fix for this too.Adjustable traction arms sound interesting.

Not everyone with one of these cars is an ignorant kid looking to show off in front of his friends. I am 36 years olds and have been running a 7 second drag car for many years, not a punk trying to play rice car driver. If you can't be constructive and offer good advice then why bother wasting the time to post anything at all? I don't understand people like this sometimes.
ok, if you have been running a "7 second drag car" then you should know what the main cause of wheel hop is and how to correct it right? i guess not since you made this thread. and what is so hard to understand about "it takes practice not to do it"?

My 06 used to do it like crazy, if i tryed to pull a fast start it would just hop, everything on the inside would shake coins jumping. I thought it was the dumbass potenza tires they put on there or something to do with alignment, cause i would spin the tires on dry and no tire screeching as well and no peal out marks. Got Kumo all around and finally my car would screech no more wheel hop and i could actually burn rubber, hearing my first to second shift with tire screech shocked me lol. Thos potenzas are ****

This was the most recent thread I saw on this topic, do the aluminum diff bushings give more vibration though the car at idle or over rough road? I like the idea, as I also have pretty bad wheelhop problems with my Z, but I had urethane mounts in the last car and i'm not really ready for that level of irritaiton again.

Maybe it's a result of the stiffer suspension making it more obvious on the Nismo model, but if we are getting wheelhop due to the IRS design and soft rubber bushings, it should affect everyone. Try a hard 1-2 shift on a wet road, what would normally yield a tire chrip results in terrible wheelhop. Does it on dry roads as well, but wet makes it much easier to duplicate without being too abusive of the powertrain.
My old car was FWD and had pretty bad wheelhop, especially in the wet, and as the car got more powerful it got much worse. I ended up making custom spherical ball joint LCA bushings to fix the problem, but it cost me a lot after going though a couple sets of urethane ones and then designing and building the prototype spherical joints myself. Hoping to find better solutions here, as I know i'm not the only one who has felt it and done something about it. Wheelhop breaks stuff, no doubt about that.
