Insurance Question...
I'm looking to buy a Z August 2004, and was wondering what you all are paying for insurance (especially those around my age). I will be 22, I'm male, one at fault accident, and no speeding tickets, in the northeast. If anyone else on the board matches that.. What can I expect to pay?
you'll be paying alot... but you can't go based on anyone else.... even if they are the same age, area, etc because sooo many factors are taken into account (including your credit!) Just dedicate one day to calling around different places and get some hard quotes. Or even check the online sites.

I called USAA, whom my parents have had their insurance thru forever, they quoted me 2487/year.. But said it would be lower if they had a vin number, as they can't count all the safety features... Of Course that’s in Mass, which is horrible for insurance, and USAA is a bit higher then normal as it is. Either way.. Ouch.
Good luck getting much below $1000 every 6 mos. My 20 year old son's premium is $1124 every 6 months on an Acura RSX Type S. My premium on the 350Z Roadster is $403.80 every 6 months (I'm 40). With my 02 Maxima, it was $395. On our 04 Maxima (wife is rated) it is $356/6 months. I think until you are 25, you are going to be in a the highest premium bracket even with a clean record; higher if you have issues. I know my carrier (Nationwide) has told me that regarding my sons. However, because we have 5 vehicles, they did work with me to rate my wife on my younger sons car (Honda Civic SI) and rate him on our 94 Ranger Pickup...The premium for him on that is $561.70/6 months...and that is a 10 year old truck!!. Good luck.

RAR, go with progressive. The only things that will lower your insurance at your age through USAA are getting 1.) Getting Married 2.) Adding your wife to your insurance policy.
I know this for a fact because I'm 23 and getting married in Dec. and have already talked to USAA about it. My insurance will drop by about 500 when I actually get married and then get cut in half again when I add her on to my policy
