Default SETI @ Home, new 350Z Group

Got any SETI @ Home Screensaver users out there? I've been loaning my spare computer time to it for over 4.5 years!

I've created a New group called 350Z. If you want to compile our SETI statistics together into this group, please visit and click the Join link near the top:

http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/s...am_174279.html

If you have forgotten your SETI password, there is a link on this page that will email it to you.

Here’s to finding ET!

I used to run SETI, but switched to United Devices (www.ud.com), they use a similar system (distributed computing), but they use it to help find cures for things, like Cancer, Smallpox, etc.

Just a thought if you're running more than one PC ... share the computing power

I prefer to use United Devices, which uses the same concept but instead searches for cures for cancer and alzheimer's disease.

I tried installing SETI@home on my new rig, but it freezes the cpu because it takes up too many cycles on an overclocked rig...and plus, 100% on both logic trains for extended time is never good.

That's some serious CPU power you got there Konverter! You could run two sessions at the same time with those Dual CPUs, or run one in the background constantly and it would probably be difficult to tell (slowness wise) since the other CPU could handle all your O/S and application needs. Running SETI in the foreground on a single cpu machine can bog it down at times, I use it in screen saver mode only. Used to run it on spare servers at work, but we have consolidated onto a lot less servers so am unable to do that anymore...now it's just my work and home PC running it.

United Device creates weird problems on my computer.
if I installed the program it takes me 10 minutes to shut down the PC

yeah no fare at all...

i have a seti acount for each of my computers...

im such a dork...

once me and my old roomate in college (in like 99) took our MAC's (g3's) and networked them together and got it so it split a seti work pack across both computers... only cut an hour off our time... a 233G3 does a seti unit in like 22 hours.. so it wasnt worth it.. but was fun to do!

for a while we had 5 computers running seti in our apartment...

the music syntehsis lab at my college (berklee college of music) had every computer running seti... was funny walking by the labs after everything was closed and seeing 20 computers runing seti! haha..
