i find it strange there are not many manufacturers lurking around this forum... if i had an aftermarket company and wanted to make some performance parts for the z, i would be involved in the discussions on this board here daily..
i know there are some, but not quite as much as i would expect.

Thanks for bringing this up. I am always wondering why some Nissan engineer doesn't step up and answer once and for all the engine break-in questions, break-in oil myth, etc. These are important questions that for now, are answered mostly in opinion and some real world experience, not true fact from the people who designed, engineered, and built the engines.
Interesting, when I visit the Nissan Design Center in La Jolla/San Diego every year, they tell us they allow time for their designers to do research, look at magazines, etc and even have a library. Why they are not here is a mystery to me...
I would especially think that they would like getting feedback from us since the Z is all about passion and not cup holders and we are a bunch of car nuts. I know when they designed their Quest, they surveyed women at malls. When they designed the Titan, they drove Ford 150's etc and went to construction job sites. Seems to me they should be checking out websites like ours and going to tracks to see what is going on with this group of consumers.
I plan on taking my design classes there again this year. I will take my Z down and maybe I can get some of them to check it out. Maybe they are interested in things like the custom sub enclosure?

The reason: Anything they say becomes "official" in the eyes of the readers since they are an employee of the manufacturer.
I work for a high profile software company, and while I will peruse forums about the software, It is extremely rare that I will ever post. When I have posted, it immmediately becomes "the offical word from XX software."

Hey Zland. When do you usually go? I wonder if Z owners can get together and do a field trip to NDI? That'd be something to think about. I'd definitely go.
And where do you sign up to take classes there?
