I won't ever take my 350z to a auto-car wash either. Plus I have the ZR so I have my top to worry about too.

I drive my car in the summer only and hand wash it with the right materials about every two-three days & it gets a wax job every month. The hand washing only takes me 20min.....

Id say phone your insurance company and get them to fight it out with the car wash. Thats why you pay them.

I agree. I would imagine someone could take care of that for much cheaper than the $1039, and you really dont want to get your fender painted unless you absolutely have to. No body shop can ever match the factory finish 100%. I had a similiar situation a few years back when I got my truck towed for illegal parking (it was one of those scams...there was not a sign that said "no parking" and the business was closed). Anyhow, the towing company dented my tailgate and said the same thing the car wash is saying. My insurance company basically told me it would never be worth the hassle to get the money out of them. Just pay the deductible and dont go through car washes.

they have insurance for this...id call the cops and not left before then...but what you can do is have an attorney draft a letter for repairs or file a lawsuit

The first thing you should do is call YOUR insurance company. They will contact teh car wash and the car wash's insurer and get the issue resolved.

No attorney's fees needed.

Yeah, I know. but I was in a hurry that day. Learned my lesson the hard way. I have contacted a small claims attorney. Hopefully this will work out.

I did file an insurance claim, and they told me that all I could do is pay the deductible and then go after the car wash to refund me the deductible. They didn't mention anything about them hassling the car wash for me. And, I realize now that calling the police at the time of the incident WOULD have been a nice thing to do, but I did not.

most automated carwashes have a sign with a disclaimer saying they are not responsible for any damages, I'd check for that first.

I guarantee you that if your insurance company pays for the repairs, they are going to go after the car wash/insurance provider for their money. And they will collect youu share (the deductible) while their at it.

Its called subrogation.
