Default First $1500, looking for suggestions

The Z has been a dream car of mine since 18 when they came out, saved up, paid CASH and I am not getting rid of her ever...unless Barret Jackson is knocking on my door later in life

Bought last year, b/c of MN weather stored 5 mos and she is out now! Daily driver in good weather, but will autoX her too someday soon funds pending-

2005 Base...6 speed
Need some quick advice-

First $1,500 off the bat to max what I can, here is what I am thinking?

z1 plenum spacer
z1 headers
APS, Kinetix or Z1 test pipes
Street performance Throttle body spacer
K and N high flow/CAI

Thinking I will finish off exhaust as funds come in, and keep stock muffler for now at least.
Any advisement will greatly help.
Thanks,
Erik

+1 on the MD spacer , lower intake plenum and TP's (pref resonated)
save up and get a decent exhaust . headers are low on HP returns and mostly a pain to install , unless ur getting them installed then they get pricey.

yes a nice lower intake from motordyne matched with a 5/16 spacer, cant go wrong with that, trying to but my lower as we speak.
and i would do HFC but again my opinion i like the sound better.
headers show some gains but matched with TP or HFC and an exhaust have shown some pretty nice gains.

Just do yourself a favor and search a little more . All the questions you've asked have been answered before . not trying to be a dik u'll just learn more that way , you may even find something you weren't looking for.GL

First, driver mod, as in HPDE or autox or racing school or whatever.

If you plan to autocross I would suggest you keep it Stock2Autocrozz...as the mods you listed would move you up a class. Buuut then I'm guessing you thought of that?

If you plan on doing autox, DEFINITELY get an lsd. I would say get gears too, but you have the non rev-up engine, so the stock 3.5FD is probably best.

Yeah, advanced AutoX driving school could help...but have been driving different race cars for years, whether oval or dirt, so I am pretty on Q for that!

Congrats on getting your dream car, I felt the same way when I bought mine up front. I'll never get rid of it either. Looks like you have a good plan of mods.

Thanks guys for some actual feedback instead of, "you should search more" WTF...obviously I have been lurking or I wouldn't have joined up! Looking into those gears too

lower gears and a open diff is stupid! A lsd is a must even more so w/gears.

Agree. You might check with club rules about headers. May bump you into a class where the 350Z is not competitive.

Note: You mention autocross but tires are not on your list. Good DOT tires will run about $800. THe remaining $700 will pay for a lot of autocross.
