New car 5000 KM legend...

I heard that when u get a new car. You should not overdrive the car or make sudden acceleration until u have finish 5000 KM and proceed with an oil change and maintainance.

This will help to pro long your car engine life span. Is that true?



The more logic explanation would probably be because the engine oil use by the manufacturer is not in good quality.
Would it be different in a sport car?
