Default Trunk lid closes hard

Just got my Z yesterday, and when I close the trunk lid, I really have to close it pretty hard to get it to close all the way.
Is this normal ?

If I just lift it up and let it drop down, or give it alittle help, it will close, but not latch, I really have to push pretty good to get it to close all the way.

I thought it might be in the adjustment, so I just tried that this morning, but made no difference.
Then took off the 2 small springs that are used to pop the lid when you go to open it, and it closes great, but offcoarse now doesn't "pop" open, when you open it

I suppose definition of "hard" is needed.

I cant just let it fall and close, but I have no problems applying sufficient force to close it.

Not to hijack your thread, but....my trunk lid doesn't always pop open all the way the first time I release it. I have to release it a second time. Anyone have this problem? It might be related somehow to the problem originally stated.

had it happen a few times, only in the winter tho I think others did, determined that those same 2 spring things were sticking and not releasing as they should...

Mine does'nt open properly either - but I do have a spoiler fitted (Nismo). That probably has added to the weight stopping it popping up enough - can you adjust the black stoppers to help this I wonder?

I know exactly what you're talking about snookie. Mine is the exact same way. I gotta give it a good hard push to close properly. I'm just hoping this is normal and they desinged it to be like that. It doesn't seem wrong to me, just more on the hard side. Other cars have been easier, I just figured this car was a little more difficult. Just think about how it pops open. Mine pops open pretty harshly as well. Just the way it is, I suppose.
