Default Hey, I'm new... nice site!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to say hi... I'm new... just found the site browsing the net... I currently drive a 01 Toyota Celica GT-S 6 speed... I'll be soon selling it to get the new Z... Not 100% on the trim/color yet... but I'm sure once they hit the dealers I'll be able to make that decision quick enough... well that's about all I got for now! Later!

yup, there do need to be more girls... unfortunately I'm not a female... very much a male... Yes there are way too many forums to keep up with... that's why you get your favorite few and visit those...

I've got mine

Newcelica.org
forums.anandtech.com
Nissan350Z.org
and now this one my350z.com...
I'll check out that Zcar.com... haven't yet...

Default Celica

Welcome, you know now that you mentioned your celica I think I read somewhere that the weight on it is in the 2500-2600 lb range. I wonder what the z is so much heavier. I know it's built much more rigid than the toyota and that the motor is a little bigger but 700lbs is a huge difference.

btw: how do you like the GT I was contemplating one for a while.

yea, the celica is right at 2500lbs... my year the 0-60 is 6.6 which is not bad... problem is the engine is peaky so it gets all of it's power right at redline.. The GT is a little less peaky however it does have 40 less horses, but when mated to a 5 speed manual, its a very good car to turbo... light, sporty, and nice... only problem with the GT is no rear disc... only GT-S has 4 wheel disc.

I wouldn't spend too much time checking out ZCAR - mostly a bunch of idiots and flame-throwers. Most of the people on this sight went running from there to get away from the 95% BS going on over there.

You'll find that this site is well run and doesn't tolerate abuse by users.
