Damn dude... I'm sorry for your loss... but I'm glad you are ok, essentially that's all that matters.

Glad to hear you're okay. I'm so paranoid every time I take my Z out from reading about all the accidents on this forum.

Keep us posted on the progress of getting a new ride.

Wow, good think you're ok tho! Hard to believe that we were all just together on Friday watching Star Trek at the Air/Space Theater at Dulles!

Hope all works out for you........

Since you mention that you unable to see/evaluate the pavement’s condition at night (“...I wouldn't have been able to tell at night anyways...”), it might be wise to keep your electronic stability systems active while driving in the dark.

Just a thought…

What satisfaction do you get from giving people **** over this type of situation? I could even understand you talking **** just to be a dick cause I do all the time, but not in this situation.

He didn't say "Dude, I was driving and my car just lost control for no reason and now it's totalled". He told the damn truth. I guess it's cause the real Z familia stick together, Mr. Vette.

I say either;

1.) Go fukk with a newb

2.) Give condolences to the lost Z

3.) or GTFO!!!!!!

+1, You can't expect a car to accelerate hard out of a turn unless you properly load the tires with hard braking before turn-in. I'm sorry that you learned this the hard way but they teach this kind of stuff in car control schools. At least you and your friend were able to walk away from the accident.

Let's be honest, he could have come on here ranting because the old lady he ran over caused him to crash his car and there would be some nuthuggers defending him.

Real Z people DO stick together. But we also call a person out and tell them what a cack they are when they wreck their car because they accelerated hard out of a turn with traction off on wet roads at night.

You crash your car because you're a moron? Expect a little reaming. Man up and take it. Just be glad he told the truth and didn't give a bunch of excuses or this probably would have been a lot worse.

That's all well and dandy, if I was on a road course, but I was on a straight, flat interstate

Correct. I misjudged road conditions at night and wrecked my car, and I feel HORRIBLE that Jim was in the car with me.

The adjuster may look at the car today, so we'll see what happens.

Sorry to hear man, that looks like it was a HARD hit! At least you came out unscathed (for the most part) and so did your passenger.

370Z?

Good luck with the claim hopefully they give you decent money for it.

I downshifted to go around someone in 4th and punched it, the rear end snapped around and instantly got sideways, sending me straight into the guardrail in the median. The rear of the car took the hit and was completely crushed in, the car is pretty much destroyed from the b-pillars back. Unfortunately at night I couldn't tell that the road was just slightly damp, there was no road spray from other cars nor were my wipers on (not raining), so as far as I knew the road was just as dry as when we we got on miles back (did a quick 3-4 blast on the on ramp). Jim (k6750gsxr) was with me in the pass. seat, but he's ok. I on the other hand, busted my bottom lip on the inside

Yeah, with all that power its no surprise to lose traction even with the slightest wet road. I get super paranoid driving my Z on wet roads. Glad you are OK. Sorry to hear about Z loss :*(

Sweet baby Jesus! That's one crumpled Z. You are a lucky man Danny. I'm relieved to hear you're OK. Everything else in life can easily be fixed or replaced.

The adjuster went out and looked at the car today, he says it's definitely totalled in his opinion. I'll update as I get more info...
