Default car broken into!!!

the scariest thing possible happened to me last weekend, i was at a bon fire when my two friends who left the bon fire early called me and told me that there was some guy in my car! i sprinted to the car as fast as i could possibly run but the little **** got away. luckily my friends saw him and yelled at him before he could take anything. there are only a few scratches on the driver side window where he used his slim jim to get in. what is wrong with people! i can honestly say that was the most scared a have ever been when it comes to my Z, and i've gotten into some trouble with it. i feel like my car was raped. needless to say i think im going to put all mods on hold until i get a new alarm system. i was thinking about the viper, i've heard good things about it and i know a friend who will install it for cheap. btw i have a 08 base model and i was wondering is the alarm different than the higher end models?

Make sure your alarm has blinking/flashing lights to let someone know that there's an alarm installed. As scared as you were imagine having to come face-to-face with the thief armed with a gun, or even just a large screwdriver. Without an indicator the thief is going to smash your window - or scratch the door as he slim-jims it.

Two years ago my Xterra got broken into setting off the alarm. I was picking up my pizza and was armed at the time. I heard my alarm going off from the parking space in the middle of the lot and gave chase. The a@@#$* was fast and went running as fast as he could into the back of a waiting pickup truck's bed. They tore off into the darkness at a high speed before I could get a plate.

Later I asked the cop taking the report what I had done wrong as I had parked out in the middle of the lot under a light and hadn't left anything visible in the car. The cop said I didn't have an indicator to warn the thief that the car was alarmed. I installed a pair of blinking LED lights since then.

I hate thieves.

I haven't locked my car in 3 months and now one has touched it... I wouldn't mind one bit if it got stolen. I need something bigger and dealer trade is is to low IMO when I still have a loan on it.

clifford, viper, python, its all the same, with minor tweaks like different remote fobs. research which one best suits your needs and try to find a hookup on the install cost. I went with a 1 mile range system since I usually work high up in an office and live on the third floor of a building, need that extra space for walls and other objects..

bright blinking blue led' alarm indicator near my rearview mirror, thieves will know it won't be worth the trouble if they try to break in, there's nothing inside worth smash-and-grabbing for. they wouldn't have enough time to steal it or rip anything out .. err, rephrase, I'd be really surprised if they were good enough to do it before I was down there with my sig.
