Damaged parts Warrenty
I have several parts on my car that were caused by a manufacturers defect. My car is still running, but these parts need to be replaced asap. The place where I got my work done just tried to tell me that I need to drive 2 hours to there, then let them take the damaged parts off of the car.
They say that the manufacturer want the damaged parts sent to them before they send new ones.
My car will be inoperable without these parts. The manufacturer has seen the pictures of my damaged parts.
Up untill this point in time I kept this issue private with the hopes that the problem would be taken care of in a professional manner.

In July I drove from Kansas to Chicago to pick up a brickyard 350Z. When I got back to Kansas and washed the car I found a flat spot on the rear bumper. It appeared that another vehicle had be in contact wth the bumper long enough for a thermal set. I suspected it may have happened during transport.
The dealer I bought the car from did not take delivery from the factory. They got the car in a dealer trade and denied responsibility. My local dealer indicated that it was obviously transportation damage and that it was not covered under warranty.
I called up Nissan North America and they were fairly responsive. They helped me find a dealer to do the work and after 6 weeks I have a new bumper with a better looking paint job than the factory orignal.
The kicker is that the body shop manager checked a couple 350Z's he had sitting on the lot and they both had the same problem. He indicated one was much worse. I applaude Nissan for addressing this issue for me, but am very disappointed that there are so many cars either leaving the factory with these defects or being damaged during transport.
I guess my biggest mistake was hat I only checked metal body panels for dents prior to taking delivery. The flat spot on he bumper was only visable from a certain angle.
Before taking delivery of a new car, carefully check all body panels. After you take delivery, there is always some suspicion that the buyer is at fault.
