Default Well I decided I'm gonna buy a Z in a month

The whole rotary issue with the RX-8 confused me on what car I really wanted. But this latest crap with Mazda lieing about HP AGAIN on one of their cars has finally made up my mind for me. So I'm gonna order a Black Enthu around Oct 1.

One of the things that has always kept the Z in my mind is the forum and the great wealth of information you guys always have on it. And the fact most of you aren't @ssholes like the idiots on the RX8forum.

Once again thanks for helping me through you overall posts decide on a winner.

Its a mixed battle over there on the lowering of the HP by Mazda and they Buy back or 500 + extended services you get if you bought yours before today. Like I said, how can you trust a company that has lied on the same issue twice now. That really bothers me. They did it with the Miata awhile back too.

wow im reading about this thing...

what did they originaly rate the car at HP wize?

that just makes the car even more junky...

if they had a 350z in X-Men insted of the RX8 more people would be nuts over the Z.. but Im glad the Z has more of a rarity to it... and a **** OF ALOT MORE POWER!!! HAHAHAHA

It was rated at 248HP now their saying something like 239HP. But their's only about 170HP actually hitting the wheels on dyno's. So you do the math to figure out drivetrain loss if its really running at the published 239HP. Plus the RX-8 X-men car they actually sat in the movie didn't have a engine in it, and the one they actually drove was a RX-7 with RX-8 sidepanels on it. And god forbid the gas mileage, its supposed to be 18/24 I think. People are lucky if they get 18 on pure HWY driving. There may be a about a difference of 3k between the Z and RX8, but hell the at least the Z gets decent mpg, actually has all its Horses, and doesn't have a scumbag company lieing to everyone(at least as far as i'm concerned)

The RX-8 is actually dynoing at 190ish whp.

BTW this isn't Virus this is a guy from the RX-7/8 forums go check the actual dyno numbers. If you have seen one dyno at 170 it must have been the auto model.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Z's have been out a few months longer... but everyone says "I want an RX8" not many say I want a Z...

Damn Poison! the RX8 sounds like a crappy car from your last post... Crappy tranny - Low HP to the wheels... Your way way way better off with the z the way I see it...

Tell me about, I'll be honest I rode in the car and it had a nice feel. But to be honest Stats are somewhat important to me. And I HATE being lied to, its not the dealers fault its Mazda's. So far the only problems with the Z were a few trannies in the first production models, and now the car looks like all the bugs are out. Gonna be sweet when I get it, though the little women is still trying to talk me into the G35c for the backseat, but I think I want a true sports car

Ya try it the only "fun" thing is rev'ing it up to its insane redline, but then you feel its got no real power there.

Cool

Hope you like your Z as much as I like mine. I bought my Z in February and am simply crazy about the car. It is fast, it is fun to drive, it is good looking, and when I can keep my foot off the gas pedal the mileage is good.

Enjoy

What he said ...I've had my Z for about 4 months now, and still get absolutely giddy when I fire up the engine. I simply can't imagine driving anything else...

Lets not get too carried away about low hp on the Mazda. They seem to be getting ok 0-60 times so they must have some power.

I like the Z better and of course I own one so I am biased but I am sure the S2000 and RX 8 are both nice cars.
